There's a lot of money being thrown around but other teams...49ers just traded for Dee Ford for a 2020 2nd red pick plus paid him 5yrs 87 million smh

All of us will. I have never seen a worse QB in the pocket under pressure.

Gonna be hard for season ticket owners to sell off tickets for the 2019 season....they may be better off donating them to charity and taking the tax writeoff (that or take a six pack of near beer per ticket).

...and 2020, and possibly 2021. I think it will take a minimum of two years (likely three) before we field a decent product. They better hit on QB.

Agree..but if we take a big name QB in 2020 which seems more and more likely, that will go a long way to get people interested again....look at Mayfield and the Browns sales & interest after he got drafted.

The best chance at hitting on a QB is having a high draft pick in 2020, it's a solid group, as long as your in the top 10 you should be able to get a blue chip QB prospect

Yep...but knowing our history of f'ing it all up, we'll wind up 7-9 and pick #14 or so....lol.

Damnit. That might end up being a great signing.

Step 1) Decide you want to "clean house" and "rebuild" by retaining the general manager who has been the core piece of your below average talent evaluation over the last decade+. Sell it how?
Step 2) Hire a position coach as head coach because you can't even land a coordinator for the position because you suck so bad as an owner. Sell it by saying he was instrumental in the success of his previous team's defense (he coached the linebackers so well that the team went from a top 10 defense to a top 10 defense).
Step 3) New head coach subsequently hires coordinators with no NFL experience, but sell it by saying they are really great teachers.
Step 4) Cut all your players without dead money. Sell it as future compensatory draft picks and cap space.
Step 5) Lose. Sell it as a positioning for a high draft pick so you can draft a QB at #1. All a team needs is an awesome QB and it's Super Bowl bound.

Obviously it's genius because it has so many excited on this board.

I've been a fan for over 40 yrs and have watched every game for the last 25 (once technology allowed it to become an option). I'm not buying it anymore. This looks more like SF with Tomsula as coach a few years ago than some famous tank and rebuild to a Super Bowl (for which there is a recent relevant example?)

Thank you Steven Ross, you've helped me cut the cord from the Dolphins and the NFL. I've cancelled Direct TV and Sunday Ticket - I will save hundreds of $ annually. Sundays are back, I've got two young kids and they're a much better focus of time. I no longer feel compelled to follow the news articles and opinion pieces rehashing the same story lines that follow the continuous three year cycle of rebuild/rebrand, maybe I'll learn another foreign language or find a more useful hobby.

I'm free! Good-bye cruel message board.

Why don't you tell us how you really feel? Hang in there, your suffering from offseason depression. I get it every year too. The season will be here before you know it!
