As terrible as we’ve been with cap space allocation why exactly is it a good thing to have so mucb next year?

Whole damn things a massive waste until we get a qb.
The hope is that we'll have the cap to bring in top FAs once we have our QB, no?

My hope is we will be much smarter about how we spend our money going forward no matter who the QB is. Once we have a very good team then top FAs start making more sense... maybe. First you need to build your foundation through the draft and make sure you can keep those players around long enough for it all to matter. Bargain FAs like Gore last year will always make the most sense, however

The lectures by the echo chamber really is about semantics at its core.

It's just about digging ourselves out of a hole that took us a decade to get into.
And the first rule to getting out of a hole is to stop digging (in this case paying bad/old/injured contracts while bringing more onboard to fix things) now we can really start a true build in today’s nfl. Aka qb dependent and even better if it’s a young one on a rookie deal so you can intimidately put talent around him and have money for the skill positions to fill in the holes. IMO anyway
