Well... it's mock draft time.

pff_mock_results.png

Traded down a few times and added a 4,5 and 7 in 2024.

Had second thoughts on taking Achane in R3 as there were good backs available later, but otherwise I am pretty happy with it.

Wright won't be on the board when the Fins pick but I had to take him.

With Wright off the board I would have traded down a little or taken John Michael Schmitz from OH St and then moved Williams back to LG.I think that would really solidify a solid OL from LT to RG. We would still have to figure out RT but I have not given up on Jackson.

Pretty good, need a corner

The CB's I like just did not fall for me.

I also do not view CB as such a huge need since the Fins will be getting some injured guys back.

And since we don't know who the DC is going to be(fingers crossed Vic Fangio)the Fins might be playing differently in the secondary*.

*Less "Let's leave everyone in man to man with no help while we blitz 3 guys!"

...and I couldn't resist.

Here's my take on how I would spend our limited draft capital this year. I'm hunting for players who can step in and play immediately (so that means drafting the 'lesser' positions), as well as looking at replacing players that are soon to leave (Ogbah).

Charbonnet would become our almost every down RB from day one. He's big and has nice hands, linebackers wouldn't like to see him catching the ball in space, he could run over or around them.
Morris is a big Edge type... like Ogbah. I've had him rated higher than most touts all year, he's a scheme fit.
Overshown is a former safety who would replace Baker eventually.
Dennis is a quality inside thumper who can cover and blitz (11 sacks this year). He isn't Parsons, but he's a solid shot late.
McClendon is a RT who could also play Guard.

I know... it's really early.
This is what this board is all about, brother.

Picked up a 2024 2nd rounder and two 4ths.

Did not find a LB but I did edge an edge in Young from Tenn.

ZC would be a good pick and fit. But he is a guy you pick and ride him hard for 4 years and let walk. He has a lot of tread on his tires already (even in HS) and has had a few knee injuries already as well.

I'd do that with any RB really. I view it as a totally disposable position.
I'd rather get a linebacker or DE first, and take my chances on a RB later... but so far, that hasn't worked well for us.

Wow! That's a LOT of trades.

I couldn't finagle Darnell Wright and I usually don't allow myself trades but.... also, don't look funny at that last pick ;)

Rankings on tdn are a little rough - worse than pff imo - but these are fun.
