For once this whole season im impressed with him yesterday. He had time in the pocket and had patience for the wides to get open.he showed he can throw the ball on the money. The thing im concerned with is that underthrow in the endzone to gilmore which was a int.If he woulda put more on it,it was a td.The thing is he needs to put more power on his throws. What do you all think about gus

Gus will always be Gus... I knew he'd have his good days and I knew he would have his bad days. He is what he is, and will be the same if he's starting for us next year.

I personally think Gus has done pretty well this year. You can only expect so much when your #1 receiver and premier TE drops every other pass. Has be played bad, sure, but I think he's had more time playing well then poor. He's not going to light up on many secondaries but he did well yesterday.

I agree, I think Gus is an okay QB. He has potential, he just needs the team to be more consistent. With that said, I hope he is our number 2 QB next year.

Against a really bad defense with ZERO pass rush?

Not really. Gus is incapable of having an "impressive" game. He is capable of having a "good" game which is what he had yesterday. Unfortunately for every "good" game he has, he has 2 or 3 "bad" games. The Bills game should be interesting. We should pound the rock and limit Gus to 20 throws. But asking Linehan to do that may be too much so Gus will probably be forced to throw against a good secondary, which the Raiders obviously don't possess. We'll see how he does, but history doesn't indicate he'll have a good game

he did great, but the raiders defense is horrible.

A above average QB would have really lit up that D.
Did you see the interception in the endzone?

If not for the dropped balls and stupid defensive penalties that kept Raiders drives alive we WOULD have lit them up.

He played a very solid game yesterday, I don`t really know what he was thinking on that int, but otherwise it was a very solid performance. Gus is never going to be anything more than a journeyman QB, we all know that, but for the most part I`ve been happy with him. He`s plus one in TDs to INTs, and I`d be willing to bet AJ wouldn`t be.

Gus is steady. The problem has been the whole team around him and him having to deal with that and his mistakes at the same time. Gus is mature and looks at everything with the attitude they expect, which is why he will still start the whole way.

A large part of yesterdays success can be said to point to Linehan being on the sideline. I think the team is starting to come together a bit more. As somebody else pointed out, if we didnt have dropped balls, Gus would have had an excellent day. The Int in the endzone was just one where the defender had a better read on the ball than Gilmore. At least he took a shot. It wasnt like he was double covered or anything.

People will never find it in themselves to give Gus credit for anything because they have it set it their minds that they are right, and anyone who backs up Gus is basically an idiot. Gus is what he is, but he can be better if the team starts to come around and make plays. Gus' job is to get the ball there and throw away when nothing is there. The playmakers are the ones recieving the ball.

The reason we won yesterday is we match up well with Oakland. The reason we lost to the Browns is we don't match up well with the Browns. We won a game we should have and lost a game we should have. Buffalo is a fifty/ fifty matchup. If we have "turned the corner" as Saban would say, we should beat them

So 360 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT vs. NE is not "impressive"? :shakeno:
