I was reading an atricle in the Miami Herald that made sense. If Ricky never left last year, we'd probably have gone 8-8 or 9-7 at best. We may have still been stuck with Wanny Speilman and not have picked up Ronnie. So perhaps the planets have lined up for us for a change. Ricky got his much needed rest and will no longer be ridden into the ground by going for 30-35 carries a game. Not to mention perhaps now having the best coaching / management team in the NFL. Also I believe Saban and Co. is the main reason for not having as many injuries since he handles players that are nicked up much differently than most teams do.

Never thought of it like that, but thats a good point!!!!!!!!ricky will for sure last longer and be there in the 4th quarter not getting run into the ground doing the first 3!!! nice point.

Dont make excuses for him, quiting like he did is still one of the most idiotic moves in sports history. You also cant say we would've won more games. The way the oline and qb's played last year I doubt Ricky would have made much difference. Also, I think even if we had won 8 or 9 games, it still would have been a dissapointing year thus costing Wanny his job anyhow.

This season was the biggest disgrace this franchise has ever suffered. How anyone can praise it is beyond me.

That logic is like saying if Hurricane Katrina didn't blow through New Orleans and cause havoc then my cousin Louie wouldn't have a brand new house built for him.

It's a stupid statement on every level.

Right or wrong at the end of the day its true, if Ricky hadn't quit we wouldn't be where we are today. I for one am happy with the outcome.

:shakeno: How do you know? If Ricky would have played and Miami didn't make the playoffs Miami would have STILL fired Wannstedt. And if we did make the playoffs why would you have wanted Wannstedt fired? SERIOUSLY!

Some of you people must have been dropped on your head as childern.

Do you honestly think we would be in such a great position as a team if Ricky hadn't retired? Do you really think everything would have worked out this way? Theres no guarantee Saban would have been wannys replacement and we wouldn't have had such a high draft pick either.

There is no guarantee that Saban or our high draft pick will work out either. At this point it's just speculation.

Celebrating the worst scandal in this franchises history is idiotic.
