I was going through the stats on nfl.com and realized we're ranked third in rushing offense and rushing defense.

http://www.nfl.com/stats/team

after reading these stats it's hard to believe that we're 0-3 and probably looking at a top 5 pick next year.
Mi conclusion is that this team is very unbalanced, It has an elite rushing game but an abysmal passing game.
We are very strong up front on both sides (except in pass protection, although I think that will improve as the season goes by) but very weak in the secondary and at WR/TE. Our LB's are decent stoping the run but terrible in coverage.
The QB situation is a question mark at this point, however Henne does this season will determine what we do next year.

We're in serious need of LB's, safeties, WR's and TE's. Pobably QB too, depending on how chenne does this year.

Thoughts?

Well also we have yet to face a top run defense . We did stop Atlanta and thier good run offense but Indy is bad running while LT was out for SD.
Its funny we are good stopping the run yet Crowder gets no credit for that. Im sure he has something to do with it among others

too bad we're also 3rd from LAST in passing offense and 7th from LAST in passing defense.

We've got a good run defense, but it's not going to be tested very hard when teams have all day to throw and find receivers running open 30 yards down the field.

Yeah I agree Crowder does a good job stopping the run but he is a liability in coverage and he can't pass rush the QB to save his life.

He is an average lb IMO, We need a ILB with good coverage skills so crowder can focus on stopping the which is his strength. having Corwder cover a TE is just a bad idea

It always seems like its one or the other with Miami. Back in the Marino days, it was all offense and no defense. Then after Marino left it was all defense with a Jay Fiedler offense. Now we get a solid running game, offensive and defensive line, but no passing game and no passing defense. Look people.....we just need to put a few more pieces of the puzzle together. Obviously this team isn't there yet. We need to be patient.

This also shows that our o line and d line were products of last years draft. Now our secondary and wrs are products of this years draft, and my guess is that we'll adress lbs and rbs in next years draft, wait till next year, we are re building and it does take time.

Having any LB cover a TE over a few yards is a bad idea. As for rushing he passer , we rarely blitz him. All Porter does is Blitz

Yikes. You guys are never going to listen regarding the most important stats. It's run the ball often, pass the ball well. You can't betray either one. I guess I haven't posted this link recently. The media never mentions Yards Per Pass Attempt Differential because it's too busy blabbing about all the irrelevance.

Here's Bud Goode's site. Notice where the Dolphins slot in the so-called Killer Stat:

Rushing Offense - yeah. Wildcat. Ronnie and Ricky are amazing.

Rushing Defense - opposing teams don't need to run the ball. They score easily by throwing the ball on us. This stat is misleading.

I guess stats make losing feel better.

It's like a guy bringing up stats to prove a player doesn't suck.

All I want is us not to revisit 2007.

We've played three arguably top ten QBs. Jake Delhomme, Byron Leftwich, and Trent Edwards shouldn't have near the same success that a Hall of Famer like Peyton Manning had. That being said we've still got Drew "Marino II" Brees and crippled Brady to play so we aren't out of the woods yet.

I like the odds that Miami bounces back from these tough losses. I see a winning streak on the horizon....

peyton got way too much credit for that win. most of those plays came because of yards after catch. our tackling was down right pathetic
