Were We really 4-12 Bad Last Year?

I think it will be lower than 7 wins. Probably 6 (over the favorite) or 6 1/2 flat.

Actually, I'm sure the over/under wins are already out somewhere. The bolder joints usually stick that up in February. But the guys who ran the Imperial Palace, which was historically first with stuff like that, have moved over to the Hilton now. If anyplace has them up already, the Hilton is a good bet. I haven't been over there in a while.

I noticed we went up from 10/1 to 12/1 to win the AFC East at a couple of sportsbooks in the last week or so.

The place I visit just doesn't have any of those odds yet. I agree it's going to be right around 6 wins.

I take it those odds to win the divison are behind the rest of the teams.

PS: I did find where we are second from last to win the AFC outright at 67/1

The team was definitely as bad as their record. Only 1 win came against a team that was any good. And really that came down to an uncharacteristically stupid play by Brady. With the exception of that game the wins came against 2 of the 3 worst team in the league. The other was St Louis, and I hardly consider them to be a great team. It was just a horrible year...the likes of which I hope we never have to endure again.

The modern day NFL is designed to get every team about 8 wins a year. You have to find ways to choke away games, or draft badly, or get lousy FA players or have a poor coach, or any combination of the above to drop into the 3-4 win category.

Last season was a disaster for many reasons, but the worst is over, IMHO. Depending on how the draft goes, how the OL progresses, and the play of Feeley? If all that works out, I see no reason a 10-6 record isn't reachable. With some bounces or good breaks we could win 1-2 more games. I offer the Chargers as an example of how fast things can turn around in the NFL these days.
