owns the #2 best record for the Miami Dolphins in terms of kickoff return yards in a season with 1,415 yards

here is the Dolphins history record books site (they have not entered any records from the 04 season yet):

here are stats for Wes Welker http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/493735

I know this might not mean much too alot of you considering that this is only a record for this franchise and we have not had good returnmen in our history but I thought that this was kinda cool

Yeah He is a bad mother****er, I hope he stays here a long time.

Considering he didn't play all games, that's awesome.

Probably the only one with that many return yards that also kicked for us =).

The new "Crash"?

Maybe that era is gone.....But, he kinda reminds me of Crash. Though...WAY more moves and speed.

And he could probably, if he really felt the need to, play QB, LT, TE, CB, DE, or OLB.... only to solidify his point that he is that much of a stud.

Wes is awesome! I mean, he isnt like the best in the league or anything, but he is still a stud and definatly a serious threat in the return game! :cooldude:

How tall is he? Do you guys think he can be an effective WR too (at maybe the #3?) or only excel on special teams?

Nasty

He's the best return special list we've had in YEARS! The guy is amazing, and I really glad we were able to keep him and I hope he continues to have great success and has a long bright career in Miami. We've definitely been in for a return specialist for quite some time, and he's definitely the answer!

too bad he missed 1 game or he could've broken the record

wes is flashy. he doesnt seem to have great break away speed, but he gets the job done. he seems to have exceptional vision and decent enough moves. i think the best thing about him though is his consistency. i dont remember him muffing one punt, or making a horrible decision on a fair catch all season. hes just steady reliable and trustworthy. thow on your hard hat and bring your lunch pail to the special teams huddle

here's a photo from when he scored his TD on a 95 yard kickoff return

Wes would seem to be the player that Saban would like. Heart and guts, plays everydown like its the last and isn't afraid to throw his body to make a play. I think he will be around for a long time.
