Sorry I'm on my cell and can't copy paste but just saw this in the Herald. This team just doesn't know how to close either half. It's so frustrating to be dominating a game like last week early on just to give up a TD and be up by just 3 points. 2nd half is the same. We have bad 4th quarters especially in the last 3 minutes when games are often won or loss. It could be mental of course, lack of confidence and not strong enough physically. How many times are we watching a game that we're ahead and just with one play we all know what's coming? It's very predictable. I don't believe we have a single player that takes charge and say "there's no way we're losing this game " and then go out and make the play we need to make. Sorry but imo the last time we had a guy like that was Trace Armstrong. He was a real leader. Once he left our defense wasn't the same. We still had Surtain,Madison,Taylor,Thomas,Gardner and Marion and Bowens but when we needed a big play nobody made it. This team is missing leaders big time on both sides of the ball, not to mention our HC is not much of a leader/motivator.

That's not nearly as bad as I thought. I'm surprised we've scored 48 points in those situations. I guess I've been so focused on how easily our defense gives up points that I hadn't noticed the offense scoring.

Terrible situational football.

This week we play the best coached up team in the league in situational football.

You have not missed an opportunity to bash Philbin...quite impressive. You've been bashing him since the day he was selected to the head coach...all because you wanted Mike McCoy. I bet it kills you that Philbin is 2-0 against McCoy...lol.

It's not just Philbin. Like I said, this team hasn't have any real leaders in a long time.I feel Moreno could have been that guy.

McCoy went to the playoffs last year. Maybe this year too. Joe hasn't had a winning season yet and the end of the season is here, where Joe flubbed it last year.

Pot calling the kettle black

He takes shots at Philbin about as much as you take shots at the defense. Just saying....

Ok, as long as nobody takes a shot at Ozzy is ok.....lol

Dolphins have been ‘half’ bad – and that’s not good vs. Patriots

Good teams, by and large, score at the end of halves.

Bad teams, by and large, get scored on in those hurry-up situations.

The Dolphins have been outscored 55-48 in the last three minutes of the second and fourth quarters this year.

The Patriots meanwhile have scored 93 of their 401 points in that same time frame.

It probably because he used 3 minutes instead of 2 minutes for his data.

Hmmm...I must have missed that somewhere. Funny cause I don't remember taking shots at the defense...I have called out some defensive players but I don't make it a point to call them out in every thread if their names are brought up...or even if their names are not brought up. But carry on.

In scores taking place under 2 minutes, we have scored 22 points (5 FG's and 1 TD) and our opponents have scored 48 points (6 TD's and 2 FG's).

Once you expand that to 3 minutes it looks a lot different though. The biggest thing to take away from this is how we settle for FG's and other teams get TD's.

It just spell bad stamina and lack of mental thouthness. Also the playing not to lose attitude but at the end of the day I say it again. We're lacking leaders .

7 points differential for the entire season? That's not really all that bad. Of course you'd like it to be the opposite, but I dont see the need to make that the focal point of a thread.

One of the reasons/excuses that has not been mentioned yet is the team has basically shut down the offense in the 4th quarter in atleast four games. Part of that comes from not having that killer instinct and wanting to embarrass an opponent.
