I've been a Dolphins fan for about 30yrs and I have to admit we've been spoiled. If you think about it, 1st was Griese(good QB but not overwhelming) then we had Woodstrock(David Woodley&Bob Strock) ,Marino(Lights out and almost revered) Fieldler,Ferrotte,Feeley,Culpepper,Harrington. In my opinion we were spoiled by the airiel(SP) show by Dan but before and after its always been our awesome D that has got us where we are. Me for one dont care if we win by 30 or 3 a wins a win. Just think if we had a running game during Marinos yrs would he be at the top of almost all the records(probably not). So for me in all the years I've been a fan Feeley and Pep are the only QB's that don't belong. All the rest(besides Dan) were good QB's who just did it.
Would I like to be spoiled again with another Marino(yes) but only if we have they running game to scare the **** out of everyone too. Beside I've been waiting for us to get a Coach like Shula and for me personally I've hoped for Saban 2ys before he came(and I'm a WVU fan from TENN). I feel we need to worry about other Positions cause in my book Joey can do the job just as long as everyone else on the roster stands beside him and believes to(Feel thats why we are where we are now). The defense has always been ther but for a period of time they really didn't cause we knew we could score at will.

I'm curious to see what the Dolphins do with Culpepper vs Harrington this offseason. I don't know how cut and dried it is that Culpepper will be the starter next year. Add to the o-line, Ricky will be back add to the LB and DL and let's see what this team will be able to do.

If Joey vs. Daunte produces a better-than-average QB for us, and we improve the OL and LB core, we could be tough next year. With Ronnie and Ricky our running game will be solid, our DL is already solid, and our DB's are BECOMING solid. Get a slight improvement in just a few areas and we could be on our way. I believe this team is close, and you can see how close teams can be by looking at Pittsburg and how far they've fallen with such a small change in personnel from their SB win.

I think you mean Don Strock.

Yeah, but we need to stick with Harrington if he continues to improve and play solid the rest of this season. Enough of this musical chairs QB BS that we've been playing year after year after.... Even if Daunte makes a full recovery and reverts to his 2004 form (1 in a billion chance of that happening) starting him would require the offense to get in sync and develop chemistry again. Joey seems to be developing that gradually with this O... Why mess it up and face a potential disastrous start next season with Daunte under center again??? :(

I'de like to be spoiled with a couple of Superbowl victories.

I'm tired of these we've been spoiled posts... every other month some old time poster (no offence) decides to state the obvious and wants to declare that we've been spoiled because of our past... so have a lot of franchises but we don't live in the past, its the present and though I love Marino and all the Alumni, I feel I need to be spoiled today and in the future.

Thats why I believe in Culpepper, he is the future sugar daddy of the Miami Dolphins... of course I am not bashing Joey, he has done a very adequate job this year, but I believe that Culpepper will bring the glory back to our QB position.

P.S. - I don't care who brings back the glory, Joey, Culpepper, or Ray Lucas, I just know that Culpepper has shown to be elite and I think he can still be.

why did you say that Pep didn't belong. at least he really wants to be here and statistically he is one of the best. if we get a fully cured CPEP next season "When you say Miami your talking Superbowl"

personally i like harrington and honestly i wouldn't trade him for ANYone. Why? because he's getting the job done. Also the guys been in our system for half the season, and you can see improvement after every single week. Half of his INT's are missed catches and he is faster and more mobile than culpepper will ever be again! Give joey a chance, putting in culpepper as starter next year would be nothing less than stupid. Changing a guy just when hes comfortable with the offense and knows the system for a guy that just healed and isn't comfortable with the system....does that make sense to anyone else other than the diehard culpepper fans?

Good post. I'm personally spoiled for a different reason. I grew up watching Marino play (started watching in the late 80's) and the Dolphins were always a good team contending for a playoff spot. They made the playoffs more often than not and I think I took it for granted. Havent been in the playoffs since 2001 now and its seems like 20 years. Man, if they get back to the playoffs....I'm not taking it for granted again.

We are spoiled, and it may have to do more with the playoff drought than anything.

I mean when was the last time we've made the playoffs?

I'm just thristy for some Dolphins playoffs. It's like Africa at the end of summer around here....thirsty.

I refuse to listen to anyone who calls our QB his sugar daddy!

Maybe I'm an old timer too. But that's just me.

Did you see Culpepper this year? He was horrid. It's over

So we should keept he same o line so we dont break chemistry? Let them fight it out if they must, and let the best qb win. Joey should not be the qb of the future simply because he has chemistry with the team, which by the way is an unmeasurable force people seem to dwell on. That's insane.

I'm an old timer (40) who remembers the back to back superbowl wins. I think we have only had 6 or 7 losing seasons since we started in 1966.....look at how tough teams like the Saints and Lions have had it. The expectations are always high for the Phins, but unfortunately the team always seems to tease it's fans....good enough to beat most teams and be a playoff team or close to it, but not good enough to win another SB. I haven't seen anything that indicates DC will be the future of this team, however. Hope I am wrong about this.
