I don't know if this has been posted so I apologize if it has. Last year, we were all talking about how St. Clair was our best OL and now I've heard people describe him as "dead weight". Granted, with the way the OL played last year it's not like St. Clair being the best OL on our team carried much weight but still it's quite shocking I must say to see how far he's fallen. Personally, I would have rather seen McKinney gone because I think he pretty much sucks and St. Clair is a better OL than him especially when you consider his versatility. I don't plan to know anything about this guy Berger but I hope for our team's sake that this guy is better than St. Clair and that he's not going to be a guy that we sign to our 53-man roster only to cut him a couple weeks into the season.

I imagine Houck cut him for a reason. I'm tempted to trust what Houck says/does more than my own opinion of whether a guy should be kept or not.

I thought you were going to talk about how hopeless and lost we all felt this time last year.. big change for me !

I wonder if he was one of the guys "not buying into the system"...I read somewhere that zone blocking was not one of his strengths. I also think although versitile, he seemed reluctant to try certain positions....didn't he sort of refuse to try left tackle and maybe even center? Or if not refuse, at least suggest that he didn't want to play those.

I just watched a pre-season tape of Berger playing RG against Pittsburgh and he looks
like a much better zone blocker than any Guard on the Dolphins right now. My problem with him is that I don't see any nastiness which is something I want all my linemen to have. Plus he is a rookie.
