Ill admit, just like i am at the beginning of every season, when we are 0-0, i have high hopes. why not, every team starts with a new clean slate, and their should be optimism amongst everyone at the beginning. but boy o boy do i seem like a fool now for having any hope in this team.
what the heck has happened to this defense? you know the defense that every single one of the posters on this site for the most part, including myself, were saying how we would be an elite defense, top 5 etc this year? well, we have looked anything like that. i dont care if we only held schaub to 230 yds or so, we let the texans convert at will, and the one time we needed to make a big stand on defense, the texans march right down the field. now obviously the defense was not even close to as bad as they were week 1, but thats hard to match anyways. this defense has gotta step it up. people can say all they want how we went against the best wr in the game, etc, but elite defenses make plays vs top offenses. thats what makes them elite.
the offense. honestly, maybe its just me, but this offense does not feel any different than last year. we are calling bonehead play calls in the red zone, and the end result is always the same. FIELD GOALS AND FIELD GOALS, AND MISSED FIELD GOALS. its so frustrating. their just seems to really be no rhythm with this offense and its killing me. daniel thomas looked real good today aside from the fumble, but besides him, no one else really did anything good in particular. i love brandon marshall and no way am i saying hes why we lost, but come on man, you gotta make that catch in the end zone. very catch-able pass, and as a top wr in this game, you cant drop those. come on man. Also, what is with all these batted down balls at the line of scrimmage. is that not frustrating anyone else?
lastly, special teams. carpenter, what happened to you today? not 1, but 2 missed field goals? i know 1 was blocked, but its inexcusable. not saying we win if he hits those, but you cant miss chip shots like that.
its such a shame that we sit here after 2 games at home and are 0-2. to make matters worse the jets, pats, and bills are all 2-0. we are in as bad of a position as we can be in the standings now.
dating back to the final 2 home games of 09, we are 1-11 at home since then. 1-11!!!!!!!!. THAT IS DOWNRIGHT EMBARRASSING.
This team just showed no heart out their today whatsoever. its not right to all the fans of this team who continue to support this team through all this, and the ones who pay money weekly for tickets and parking, etc, to watch this team and this is what they get in return?
i think sparano should be gone now, but if we lose next week, cya later sparano. how long does this guy get?
