With Bledsoe announcing his retirement today that really blew my "Bledsoe will be a Raider" theory out of the water. I know that shortly after Plummer announced his retirement there was a lot of speculation that he would ultimately come back to start for the Houston Texans next season. Of course now the Texans no longer require his services. So is there any chance or has anything been mentioned about the possibility of Plummer coming back and possibly going to one of the big 5? (Miami, Minny, Oakland, Cleveland, Detroit) Was just wondering if anyone knew anything seeing as his being in the league next year could be a huge factor in our attempts to acquire ANY QB.

I think he filed his retirement papers. I'm pretty sure that means you have to sit out a year after your retirement before you come back.

he did a bledsoe he done for atleast a year!:err:

Why would we want Plummer in Miami anyways? The guy is terrible.

Even if he retires, his rights belong to the Bucs for the next 3 years. How many Jay Fidler type of QB are you going to put up with. Give up a 2nd, and move up and get your franchise QB.

I think the retirement papers are just a formality. If Jake wanted to play, (not here!!), he could come back.

I had to look it up, and this is what I came up with.

Running back Ricky Williams, who informed the Miami Dolphins last month that he was retiring, has filed the necessary paperwork with the NFL Management Council. The filing will mean that he cannot play this season if he chooses to return to football.

Its an old story btw for anyone who doesn't get that at first.

I agree. What about Jake Plummer?

I don't get Plummer's retirement. Why wouldn't he want to have a shot at starting with the Bucs? I honestly wouldn't have minded him coming here, too late now though.

I don't get it either, a lot of us dream we could play in the NFL and just don't have the talent and he has the chance to do it year after year and walks away.

I guess it doesn't matter if we get it though as long as Jake is happy with the choice.

NONONONONONONONONONO I live in Denver Donkey land and since those are the games that are on out here I end up seeing a lot of them. He might be the most unclutch player to ever play the QB spot full time. I knew no one that liked the Broncos that was not yelling in fear every time he dropped back to pass or took off to run (for those of you scoring at home that would make it every play he touched the ball). I dislike the broncos with a passion, but watching him play made me almost start to feel bad for them after a while. (Now cutler is qb so I can hate them fully again lol) If there was ever a do or die play he would die, that was a given fact. outside of he is retired and the bucs own his rights, if you are asking what about plummer then I am asking what about Ryan Leaf. It is the same difference at this point.
