What about Larry Coker as Head Coach?

I'd def. be open to Larry Coker coaching this team. I like his style, he is proven, and I feel like he could do a lot of good for this franchise. I'm all for Coker getting this job if (and when) Wanny is shown the door.

He needs to stay at U of M. I mean my god at least we have the Hurricanes. Lets not lose that too.

Coker isn't a pro coach. He's a college coach that wins because he gets a boatload of talent at Miami. I don't think he would be 38-3 if he coached at a place like North Carolina or Wake Forest.

If you are going to look at the college level, then you should at least look at a coach that has experience as an assistant in the pros or has a background of playing in the pros.

Ralph Friedgen
Nick Saban
Mike Shula
Kirk Ferentz

Coaches like them.

The one coach with no NFL experience but extensive CFL experience that I would look at would be Jeff Tedford at Cal. He is a quarterback guru.

Hey I heard Phil Jacksons available! I bet he could coach better than Wanny. Seriously though I dont think bringing in a coach in mid-season is gonna help anyone. New schemes and playbook would set us back even more than we are if thats possible. If we end up going after a college coach at the end of the year my first choice would be Nick Saban. Coker is a good coach but just doesn't strike me as the type to deal with million dollar a**holes! Saban is more get in your face type, my way or the highway, kind of guy. Which is exactly what we need.

Coaker did not beat FSU
Chris Rix is the UM MVP for all those losses :(
That's not true. The Orange Bowl was pretty much the kicker's fault. The offense did good enough to get him there, he just happened to miss it.

for all his davis recruited talent and first rounders....coker has one NC...how would that translate into being top of the crop of Headcoach prospects....coker i'm sure is a good football coach but lifetime assistant given the job to stop the fallout....all those record setting 1st rounders...still only 1 title...he is too old and would not get respect
in the clubhouse.....he is in one of the easiest places in college football to be.....only one other place can be compared to south beach atmosphere.....USC....and Hmmmm pretty easy for them to get the best players on the other side of the country.....when your hand is stacked...only you prevent yourself for not winning
