If the fins lose out on Brees and Culpepper, I would not be that upset to get this guy. He is young, has started and shown skills, and I think would be a nice option for the fins. Plus he wouldn't cost as much. What do you think?

I am not really that nuts about him. Another backup type QB starting for the Fins. Its time they get a real starting quality QB here.

exactly.

Don't get me wrong.........I wouldn't hate the move, but I wouldn't be very excited about it either.

^^ wrong

actually, if Brees and Culpepper fall through, McCown would be the obvious. The guy was 9-11 as a starter in Arizona. That's almost compared to be 14-6 or 15-5 on another team LOL. Without McCown they were 2-11!!

Dennis Green has some kind of personal problem with Josh, there is no doubt about it. Because this guy FINDS ways to bench/get rid of the kid. He chose Kurt friggin Warner to get an $18 million extension instead of McCown?????? Warner was injured again this year, can't hold on to the ball still, and was part of that 2-11. What's the problem with this logic Denny???

Brees > culpepper > Ramsey > Mcnown

I wouldnt mind Mcnown, if all else fails. The guy has put up numbers in Arizona when warner wasn't in. But he did have a couple of great WR's helping him.
He would sure be a lot cheaper than the rest. But I wouldn't be jumping up and down if we got him.

Actually, it was discussed by the guy on ESPN who is called the "football scientist" why McCown was benched in Arizona, despite them winning some games. It was his decision making......the guy watches and grades EVERY play and said that McCown had some of the worst grades in decision making (getting the ball to the right receiver) out of all QB's and that was why Denny benched him.

Keep Gus, Gus would a better option than signing McCown

Folks, every QB starts out as a backup ! Just because we've had a string of perennial backups doesn't mean that the next guy will be one too. Ramsey and McCown are cheaper alternatives that don't have injuries that hang doubt over their heads right now.

At any rate, a McCown or Ramsey alternative is not the end of the world.. Have a little faith in Saban and Meuller...

If he is a "football scientist" what the hell is he doing on the atrocity known as ESPN?

IF he made bad decisions and they were 9-11 with him, and Warner continuously fumbled the ball, got hurt, and was about 2-11 with them...AND gets an $18 million dollar excuse...what's that say about Warner's decisions?

I believe the people on ESPN about as much as I do 75% of the people on this board

You are correct but...some Qb's STAY a backup.

Just so you know, These guys were "just backups". Matt Hasselbeck, Mark Bulger, Tom Brady, and Jake Delhomme. There are more, but these are the best guys who no one really thought much of and were labled career backups.

Its not the dumbest thing in the world to pick up a guy you think is talented enough to play, but might not be a HUGE name.

Not every young backup QB will turn out like Feeley.
