I know but, camp is next week. :) I was watching ESPN earlier and saw where a few cheerleaders are suing their team and the NFL for not being paid a legal wage. They get paid $125 for home games, nothing for practice, get paid at the end of the year, and only expenses for al the events for the team and charity, and the same for things like calendar shoots, while receiving nothing from sales revenue.

They estimate that they end up with $3-6 dollars an hour, which is below the legal minimum wage. This is just not right for a multi-billion dollar NFL, and for what they add for Phans. Hell, they are the one thing I have yet to see negative post on this or any forum. :)

What do Phans think our cheerleaders should be paid?

They should pay them what they're worth, because they're treated like employees, and they're a big part of the NFL. It's a full time job and there are restrictions on what they can physically look like, what they can say in public, what their lifestyle is, etc, and they travel with the team. Everything is out of pocket for them. The free ride for the NFL should be over.

I do not believe they travel with the team HB. An away playoff may be different but, my memory is only so good. :) Agree on everything else.

From what I understand they don't travel with them for away games...but that kinda pay is ridiculous for the time they put in.

The Raiders, after being sued, have agreed to pay cheerleaders the minimum wage of $9 per hour. So for all the gals time and effort, they get paid for practice and appearances, while making around $36 bucks for a game. Are these guys serious? Watch the fan reaction to this PR nightmare.

The cheerleaders do a lot of **** in the communities and just off the field ****, I met some of them in person when I was going to the training camp and they sit out there taking pics with fans and signing autographs, this kind of pay is a slap in the face to these women who spend a lot of time doing stuff associated with the team.

Im not sure how much their worth, but Im sure they cost a lot. You dont get a girl like that without heating up the plastic in your wallet

Cheerleaders know the pay going into it, yet there are still hundreds of girls trying out for the team every year. I think they set there own worth by willing to work for free. Are they being taken advantage of? Perhaps. But if you really have a problem with it seek other employment.

100k per season. What they do requires training and dedication.

You know how many girls out there would do it for free...and are just as hot??? Think about it.

These girls more than earn minimum wage through the contacts they make, photoshoots, modeling etc. Being a Miami Dolphins cheerleader is a huge career boost for these girls. The lawsuit is BS...

Also, if you told these girls that the team would give them DOUBLE back pay for all the time they have spent, but they are no longer team cheerleaders....OR...shut their mouths and continue with the team. Which do you think they would choose?

I agree that it's absurd the kind of compensation they're offered. But... they do accept the terms of employment.
