...McMichael, Ronnie, and Ricky get overshadowed on offense. This is if we bring in T.O. My guess is that, with T.O. being the playmaker that he is and Chambers being the pro bowler that he is, this team's offense can become too pass oriented. T.O. was ok in Philly because they pass more to Westbrook than they run anyway so it was more or less a passing team but my perception of the Dolphins as of late is that they're more balanced/run oriented. Is it worth adding T.O. and taking away production from some very talented players just to add fire to a receiving corps that, in my opinion, is already very talented?

On the other side, do we want Denver with T.O. though? Everyone is already putting Miami in the Superbowl next year but if T.O. goes to Denver odds are very high that we would have to get through them for a final home game. Our secondary isn't the best and barring us drafting rookies that are surprise clones of Surtain and Deion Sanders can we really hope to hold the explosive offense Denver would have?

Any thoughts?

Are you crazy? When you have a guy like TO he demands double teams which will free up Chambers and McMichael. And for Ronnie TOs presents will bring defenders off the line and he will also do better in my opinon.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. But if T.O. starts getting all these double teams then Gus (or Brett, Cutler, whatever other rumored QB starts) will have to pass somewhere else or hand off to R&R which means T.O. isn't getting the ball. I don't think that keeps T.O. very happy. I think Philly threw to him into double coverage and every chance they could because they didn't really have another option. In Miami, with Chambers, we do have options and he may not be getting the ball as much. I know everyone says "So what if he quits, we have talent to keep going on" but I think the damage would be more than that...the players may start to question Saban. McMike and Chambers may start with the "I told you so's" I mean...not keeping T.O happy can be very detrimental to this team. And with this team I can see a lot of things that wouldn't keep T.O. happy.

I agree with the fact that T.O. demands double coverage, and that will free up our other studs to do the damage....but if you don't remember, when Chambers stepped up his game in the 2nd half of the season, he was always DOUBLE COVERED. Good receivers can beat a double team...not consistently, but they can. If we get T.O., I feel like our offense will become more balanced than it has been and in my opnion, T.O. knows where ever he goes, its gonna be his last chance. If he ruins another locker room, no other team will take a chance on him. Where ever he goes, hes gonna be on his best behavior and be a STUD. I hope we get him even though i'm not a fan of the guy.

i dont think TO would be double teamed anyways because of the off the hook second half chris chambers had on db's. There is no way defenses can double team or shadow chambers and to, AND there is no way they can put 8 up in the box to stuff ronnie/ricky and it will be difficult to find good matchups for mcmike. The offense would be absolutely rediculous

I don't think having too many elite players on the field at the same time is a problem I'm going to lose a lot of sleep over. The logical conclusion to your argument would be to not take good players so as not to upset your other good players. I can't buy it. (Now TO has plenty of other issues that are constantly debated, but having too much talent isn't one of his drawbacks to me).

I guess what I'm questioning is T.O.'s motives. Is he more about winning or individual stats? Does he want to play for a team that can make a run at the Superbowl with a balanced offense ('99 Rams) or a team that can make a run at the Superbowl because of T.O. ('05 Eagles)...the problem is if he wants to play "hero" like he did a year ago in Philly then Miami may not be too attractive to him, right?

If i was a coach preparing my team to face Miami and i had to figure out who i would double cover Chambers or Owens?I would double Owens and make Chambers beat me.I wouldnt be surprised to see Welker to get the ball more with Owens here. And if cuting down some players roles help us win then so be it.

agree

I think we should look to the draft for a WR. TO will just be a problem, and only a short term answer. you know hes not worth signing to more than a 1 year deal. If we are gonna work on our offence, I say we look at O-line and QB. Not another WR who will bring in more baggage than needed. Its our D that needs a big time impact player, like a S or CB to take over when Madison retires. TO is going to be alot of money for more crying than production

TO wouldn't be happy here in Miami. He wasn't even happy in Philly where they threw to him every chance they had. He wants to the ball and wants to be the star on the team. We work good as a team and don't have any players that put themselves before the team.

Ditto. T.O. has major issues that i for one don't not want any part of. He had one of the best QBs in the game throwing to him and he wasn't happy, what do you think he's going to do to Frerotte? He has to be the center of attention everywhere he goes and when he has a problem with something or someone, he makes it EVERYONE'S problem. Our team chemistry is awesome right now, we just came off of 6 straight wins to end the season and the moral is amazingly high in Miami. Players want to come here now, why would we want to mess any of that up by adding one really good player/terrible teamate?

T.O had everything a player could want.Money,Fans,The center of attention,A good QB,A SuperBowl appearence.Everything but he still messed it up.He has to settle down and i think he knows that.
