mike barrow the homestead native was released by the Redskins on Saturday. he didn't play at all last year due to injury and was released after he wouldn't take a paycut. i understand that he's fully recovered and he had 177 tackles(122 unassisted, that's a man!!!) in 2004. he would be an excellent fit and it would also allow Zach to move outside where he could really utilize his quickness and experience,as well as his coverage ability. Zach would be alot more effective taking on te's/fb's than the 300 pounders!!! what do yall think....???

still hatin' wanny:p4e:

They're waiting on him to sign with another team so there won't be anymore discussions about him.

I'm sure that signing anyone else is out of the question until we get the RB contract situation resolved.

Ronnie Brown getting signed is our #1 priority... everything else revolves around that... then whatever we have left can be used on a journeymen LB like Barrow~

I was raised just outside Homestead AFB so Im rooting for Saban to bring him back home to S. Florida.

Go Canes!!

I've always liked Barrow, since he signed with The U. I'd love to see him end his career here, but only if he can contribute, and only if he'll play for the minimum; that way the league picks up a good portion of his salary cap hit.

He would also be a positive influence on the youngsters.

How many linebackers does one team need

Moving Zach to the outside wouldn't be the smartest move Saban could make. Zach has never played the outside and would be like a fish (no pun intended) out of water. Barrow, who has played outside would be a better fit there.

he isn't fully recovered and his best years are way behind him.
the paycut was for a reason...his play!

what lb's do we really have???

junior's not on the field
pope is not very experienced, but talented
moore is stealing money from the franchise
zach cannot continue to take on 300 pounders himself (hence the move to outside)
crowder is a extremely talented young un', but green
spragan appears to be solid outside
barrow would solidify the core as a whole

allowing zach to attack more from the outside because he's a pretty good blitzer, and also fake numerous blitzes and drop out to coverage, and u know his hands are off the chain (int)!!!

we can win this year with the flexibility that a guy like Barrow could bring to our defense!!!

I really don't think us winning this year hinges on the signing of Mike Barrow.
