What aspect of the team hurt us the most this year? Essentially what was the reason we lost majority of the time?

A. Overall Offense
B. Overall Defense
C. LBs
D. Secondary
E. Pass O
F. Run O
G. WRs
H. Special Teams
I. Coordinators
J. Head Coach
K. Offense and Defense Equally
L. The Team as a Whole - Coaches, O, D, STs, etc...
M. Other: Please Specify (i.e. Injuries, Turnovers, etc...)

I'd say both the lb's in pass coverage and the wr's as a whole. I can't distinguish which is the bigger problem, both have been pretty bad.

I choose other.. Because there was no "all of the above" choice.

Honestly it was the D as a whole...

We were able to stop the run a little bit but the stats are misleading on that as well..Teams passed on us beacause they knew it was the easier thing to do...

We had no push and harldy any sacks out of a 4 or even 5 man rush..when it counted..I would say 12 of our sacks came against Buffalot..Another 5 against Saints..Then when we did blitz..we could not cover

Example..Matt Shaub having all day long this pass sunday

When we rushed 4 and played coverage teams were still able to pass on us...Players out of postion not making plays on the ball..

Example..Phil Rivers Pass down the seam into double coverage..Vince Young Pass down the seam into double coverage...

Missed tackles..Inabitly to tackle the ball carrier ...RB's, QB, WR, TE all broke tons of tackles...

Example..Shockey breaking 2 tackles against...Wilson and Davis...Gonazales-ATL game..Bell missing an open field tackle..Davis against Moss on the crossing route...

Those make you the most mad..We need a tackling coach.. Tackling is like free throws in basketball...You have to make them...

Early on in the year it was penalties as well...Offsides...Illegal contact..Pass interference..

I think that the offense made progress and the defense took a step back. Last season Joey Porter had a great year but this year his output dropped significantly. It was good to be able to throw Davis and Smith in as CBs and they will be better for the experience but Goodman and Will Allen were probably more reliable in 2008. While we expected the acquisition of Gibril Wilson to have a big impact, he turned out to be much worse than Renaldo Hill. Maybe Al Davis knew what he was doing in unloading Wilson.

Other, from the front office not adressing the #1 reciever position and taking Pat White, to the secondary getting tourched on a weekly basis to everything in between. They all had a hand in it. All of the above is my choice.

I picked the secondary

I guess I could say defense as a whole but if i had to single out one thing on the defense it would be the secondary letting up huge plays all year long but i guess having no pass rush doesnt help them out. I mean Gibril Wilson is just pathetic. We have 2 rookie corners. They just have let up so many big plays and fast touchdowns this year that have put us in the hole. The LBs cant cover and get no pressure on the QB either so for me its a toss up between the secondary or the defense as a whole.

Having no big time WR is an inconvenience and a disadvantage but not having a big time WR didnt hurt us as bad as our defense.

i'm in for coordinators...offensive, defensive & specials(returns)...exchange for Weis/RAC/Westhoff(or his assistant)

Overall defense did the team in. The offense got the team the lead in the Colts and Saints game and couldn't hold it. Those alone would have the Phins at 9-6 heading into Week 17. Also in the game against NE, the Phins had like a 10 minute scoring drive to take the lead only to give it up 4 plays later.

The overall defense by far. Look at 25+ yard plays and complete breakdowns week in and week out. Remember the Colts game, their first play from scrimmage? 80 yard TD to Clark. This team has wilted on D all year.

But if I could really vote for what failed us, I would vote for Ireland since he basically ignored the issue by drafting guys like Pat Turner and Pat White, failing to upgrade depth on the D line, and completely ignoring LB's except for signing JT and Wake.
