Pretend you're a general manager from another team...he's making 7 million right now... what do you think we could get for him?

Nada. Everyone knows we will cut him. Why trade for him and pay a broken one year wonder QB 7 mil when you could get him for free.

hehe, Quinn wasn't an option to pick in the poll - C. Pep to Raiders, and sit back and watch as the chaos unfolds with CJ going #1..... and quinn hopefully falling far enough for us to nab him

I just really think Al Davis' impatience will take over and they will trade for him on draft day.

I don't think a trade happens before the draft. Cam-Mul will have to know that Green and the rookie they want is on board before that happens. I can see CPep probably being released after us shopping him around for a short period of time. It's a real shame because I'm not so sure the man is done, but there just wouldn't be room and/or enough time for him to prove himself to Cam...

I think at best a 5th or 6th this year with a possible conditional pick next year. Oakland seems a possibility but you never know with Al Davis. Too bad that Linehan isn't in need of a quarterback.

The best case is if we get a pick for next years draft ... like a 4th ...

What we need is the CAP relief ... so the draft pick is purely a BONUS ...

I think he gets released. Even if a team does trade for him, his contract probably would be redone anyway, so that really doesn't matter. A pick would be nice, but since he's not medically cleared, why would a team give anything up? I know that we gave up a 2nd for a bum, but I think teams learn from other teams mistakes.

lets hold on a sec, Oakland might make a stab at C-Pep if we were willing to trade him before the draft. That would allow them to 1) get calvin johnson, 2) have an NFL qb, 3) not risk c-pep not wanting to go to oakland and signing with tampa bay, jax, texans, clevland, etc.

All that being said, we could possibly get a 5th or 6th for him just to insure he would go to oakland. just a thought. That of course doesnt happen until we trade to get green.

Doesn't this sound an awful lot like Green ? Green is going to cost 7.2 mil and he's not going to be KC's starter and he's an old QB who's one hit away from retirement, so we should just sit and wait for him to be cut too, right ? We want Green in sooner to start the gelling process etc. Much like another team would like to get Cpep in to learn the offense, gelling, etc. too, right ? He's worth something to a team who's got some time to let him rehab his way back into a starter's role. Maybe that's Oak, maybe another team, but I would think we could get something for him. 5th or 6th. We probably are being a little careful about this however, because we could set our own price with Green if we trade DC before we get Green.

The difference between Green and Bumpepper is that Green can actually play right now. Bumpepper may never be able to play again. His knee right now matches what's in his head.

While I completely agree with you Steve, I made the point from an owner who's comparing the Green situation with the Welker deal. I could easily see him using anything we get for Cpep against us if he can. What Cpep has over Green is the fact that IF (and I know that's a big IF) he can come back from the knee injury, he still "potentially" has 5-7 years left. We know Green has 1-2 at most. Hey, we were stupid enough to give up a second last year for him, why can't we hope another team is dumb enough to give a 5th or 6th this year ?
