What do Jerry Jones comments say about Marc Colombo?

"Marc Colombo", "Marc Colombo", after all the things Miami has done to improve speed and talent on offense this year, all I read about is Marc Colombo. People act as if the difference between the super bowl and last place in the AFC East is Marc friggin' Colombo... He's ONE player on a team of 53. I get that he's the worst player on the line, but someone has to be.

Agreed

I am not saying Colombu is great or good or anything. But Colombo didn't miss his responsibilities as much as many seem to be complaining about on here.

There's what arm chair QB'S think he was supposed to do, and what his actual assignment was.

Excuse me???

Go watch the games again. He didn't just miss his assignment, he whiffed on several blocks. The guy is a huge liability on the OL.

Tip: you're complaining about other people's opinions without insight, while giving a different opinion without insight.

Say he misses a block every drive. Say that, on 1 drive out of each game, that means a lost scoring opportunity.

Say the Dolphins are in, oh, 6 close games this year. Say a third of those games are lost because of his missed block.

That would mean a two game swing. If the Dolphins ceiling if 12 wins, you're talking about the difference between playoffs (and continuity of everything the team did right this offseason) and staying home (with likely firings all around, meaning a rebuild). If your projected ceiling is lower, adjust accordingly.

The *only* way Colombo doesn't substantially affects us is if we're either extremely good, or extremely bad. I don't see either option as realistic.

I see what you're saying but understand that one of the worst players on the team is starting at one of the most crucial positions and not some 3rd string backup.

I agree. You will see how important Columbo is monday night when people are just flying past him and sacking Henne. It's hard to play offense with people in the backfield all game.

That's just too many hypotheticals to even argue with...

colombos trash...yeah he's one of 53 but he's one of a starting 22 and he's protecting your qb on an island for the most part from guys who want to make your qb eat his meals thru a straw...

penthos mullets too tight on his dome so he's having a problem thinking straight... i guess...its a big deal a very big deal when this version of colombo is starting for you at tackle...just a matter of time before everyone sees it

one of 53..."come on man"

Look, by no means do I suggest Colombo is a good football player, but Jerry Jones is just as bad as owner.
