I thought it seemed like a lot to be betting at thirteen too. Then again, with inflation, it might not be such a big sum in five years' time. Come to think of it, you win either way. If Miami doesn't reach the Superbowl (and I think they probably will), you've got five years to get 100$ together and will be paying what'll seem less then because of inflation. If Miami reaches the Superbowl within that time (more likely than not), you'll get your money. That's a pretty clever bet. Does he want to bet with anyone else about it?

You should've had your brother give you some odds on that bet. I think we'll make it, but the odds are actually against it as they are for any team. He should've given you 3-1 odds or thereabouts. That way you collect $300 if you win, and he collects only $100 if you lose. In a straight-up bet the odds are in his favor. You need to be compensated for the greater risk you're taking.
