What do we do about the Middle?

Since we just heard that Traylor is going through Surgery and thank god everything went well but there is no way he will play sunday so what do we do about stopin the run up the middle ???


SHould we give it to the Rookie Mr Manny Wright see what he can do ??

Thank god Zach is back so that should help but we def need a big boy in the middle to shut down LT

Vonnie Holliday might slide to the middle he is pretty good

or possibly Manny Write

or

Jeff Zgonia
 
Positions aren't given to a player on this team. They earn their playing time. Manuel Wright's performance against Buffalo may earn him more playing time against San Diego if he continues to do the things asked of him in practice.
 
yea or mabye put in Wright for 1st and 2nd down's and put in Jeff for 3rd and 4th downs see how it goes and alternate them depending on who is having a better game.
 
Tall order. That's a big loss. Let's see what kind of scheming Saban can come up with for this.
 
Zgonina is a very good player, he might not be a fridge like Traylor is but he can fill in nicely

I suggest the opposite

manny seems like more of a pass rush guy and Zgonia a run stopper

So Z for 1st and 2nd

and Manny for 3rd down and passing situations
 
we hope like hell that saban gets the [explative] out of his 3-4 defense this week or we will get KILLED. the only time nick's 3-4 has come even close to being effective this year against the run is when big keith has been in there anchoring it. hell, even then we've gotten gashed. we always come out in it and notice how we are always getting run on early in games? then we go to a 4 man front and like magic the rushing yards disappear.
 
Keith Traylor is really gonna hurt us in the middle. Even if Zach Thomas is coming back, we need our DTs to take up lineman, because that hides Zach's physical deficiencies...not saying he's not good, just saying Traylor, Holliday, and Zgonina really help Zach. Without Traylor, it will be on Holliday, Zgonina, Wright, maybe Kevin Carter, if he's moved to the middle, to take up blockers and help our LBs.

A defense Im really fond of I think can work for us in an unorthidox one but

5-2-4 defense

5 lineman, 2 backers, 2 corners and 2 safteys

That eats up the line, and we have 2 backers in Crowder, and Thomas


hardly anyone uses this D
