With the desperation of finding a Mike reaching such a height that some are hoping to sign Brandon Spikes, I wonder.. what do we have in Jordan Tripp? He saw only 14 snaps on defense last year. He was drafted as an OLB from Montana, practiced primarily as a backup to Jenkins, but did see some time in the middle last year (in practice). Here is a blurb from last May:
The ideal scenario would be grabbing a top LB in this year's draft. However, with so many other needs, its quite possible a few positions are not addressed in the 2015 draft.
I don't know much about the guy, but one of his biggests knocks on him (from what I gathered) is his strength. I checked his twitter account and it seems like all the guy does is work out. I realize you can't just plug any LB in the middle (saw how tough it was for Misi), but is it possible Jordan Tripp could compete for the Mike position in 2015? Could he be ready to take a big step forward this year? What are other issues with Tripp that might hold him back?

Tripp, an athletic type who runs well from sideline to sideline, said he's up for the challenge.
"There is a bigger learning curve due to the complexity of defenses, especially learning a new language," Tripp said. "I'm learning the whole concept instead of just learning one position. That will allow me to help the team more.
"The coaches wouldn't have me in there if they didn't believe in me and trust me."
Dolphins fifth-round pick Jordan Tripp saw playing time at middle linebacker during rookie camp.
Tripp (6-foot-3, 234) has the measurables to potentially make the transition to the MIKE spot after playing outside linebacker at Montana.
