I read in an article the other day that the league is going to have the 49ers and Cardinals play in Mexico City instead of playing in Phoenix in an attempt to exand the league internationally. And supposedly, the league is looking into other locations for upcoming seasons to host a regular season game elsewhere. In my opinion, this is a bad move on the part of the league in the sense that they are taking away a home game from the Cardinals. Granted, the Cardinals havent been good for many years, but y should the league almost punish the cardinals by making them play in another city let alone another country. Now i know with everything going on with the fins this post is way off the subject, but i was just curious bout all of ur thoughts.

I think it's wrong to play REGULAR season games outside of the U.S. I think they should stick with using preseason games as an export of the NFL. With only 16 games the 8 you have at home are very important to your teams chances and you shouldn't have that home field advantage taken away.

Are they going to lower the cost of season tickets to teams that will miss a home game?

Just say NO to international games.

It's all about drumming up more interest in the NFL. That means more TV dollars and a better chance of your team having the bucks to be successful in the city they are in. It's a win-win and a no brainer at this point.

I think it could be good for the NFL if they had two locations that hosted games every week somewhere outside the U.S. If they did that it would be a schedualing nightmare, but all the teams should have to play a game as their home game in a remote location. NFL fans are everywhere and I think it would be pretty selfish to not allow say Dolphin fans in Canada. This may promote canadian or mexican cities from getting a franchise at some point and I think that would be pretty cool...

I don't like it. Preseason games should be the only games played out of the US.

when playoff implications come in, something like home field is way important... will this apply to the cards and niners? probably not, but it will come into play enventually if better teams are to play games outside the us. i say thumbs down on this one.

I really like it. Jeje..... It is going to be huge money, in case you did not know it, the game with more attendance in the history of the NFL was played in Mexico and it was Dallas vs Houston I believe, 127,000 people went to watch that game, you imagine how much in reveneu that is not only for the league but also for a team like the cardinals that almost never fill up their stadium, or the jaguars for that matter.

It is great business and it will not only happen this year i am sure of that.

I thought Miami had stopped being in the U.S. a long time ago. In fact I believe everywhere south of Jupiter, FLa is actually a protectorate of Haiti/Cuba. Subsequently, don't we play all of our games in non-US jurisdiction?

each time there became a new football league (XFL / USFL) i became somewhat worried that the birth of a new football league would one day collapse the NFL. i was glad to see the failure of both of them so naturally, the idea of NFL games being played abroad doesn't go well with me. i wonder what they have in mind.
why do we need it? $$ probably - somehow ... not speaking for fans.

Dumb!!!!! Take revenue away from the team owners' and the communities? Really dumb!!! They have NFL Europe. When the stadiums fill there than let's talk.

Th team that is the (home) team will make bank off the deal I'm sure w/o the expense. isn't the ticket sale split in the revenue sharing anyway?

I could be wrong but I think only the international preseason games ticket sales are put into revenue sharing. Money made off jersey sales, sponsorships and tv deals are also money split up in revenue sharing. Home games ticket sales are only split between the teams playing with a small percentage going to the away team.

edit: I was wrong I looked it up and teams used to earmark 40% of each games ticket sales for the away team, now that money does go into the general revenue fund to be split at the end of each year.
