just wondering what you guys thought of chads deep throwing abilities. it looks like he can get it downfield to the recievers they just arent makin the catches, but against the saints he threw a few too many dinky passes. he needs to take a lil chances. do you think he can get the hail mary down there if it came down to it?

As soon as this guy has down field weapons (not named Ginn) he will be putting up big numbers.

He throws a nice deep ball. It is accurate and it comes in at a very catchable angle. If you throw it to flat it is hard for a receiver to catch in stride, if you put to much arch on it it floats and gets hung up.

Great deep ball...It seems like for now he's playing it a bit more safe and checking down quickly (probably comes from working with Penny). He doesn't try to take risks or throw downfield unless he feels he WR has a much better chance than the DB where as Brees just throws it up and lets his WRs make a play (In Henne's defense we don't have the WRs for that) But I think this quick check down process should change as he gains more experience. I don't have a problem with that thought process though. He seems to have a lot of confidence in his ability and thats what really matters IMO.

I have been impressed with Henne's overall accuracy and poise the last two games. I had my doubts. Now if he can just look off defensive backs without the funky hop, we may finally have our man.

Im sure the number one thing the tell the kid is DONT FORCE ANYTHING we dont need that. Not yet anyway, I want to see how he plays on the road but so far so good in my eyes

He under threw a ball to Ginn in the middle of the field..... Ginn "might" have dropped it, had it been a little further, although it might have been 6.

What do I think of Henne's deep ball? It will be much better off when it's not going to Ted Ginn. Even though Ginn's top speed is outstanding and he has shown he can get open there, it's going to require an absolutely perfect pass for Ginn to make a play on it. I think Henne can do a fantastic job of putting the ball where the receiver can make a play on it, which is all that can really be asked of the deep passing game.

I think there are some rose colored glasses on this site, Henne under threw Ginn and its ok, Penny did it and its the end of the world. Ginn sucks and Henne hasnt proven anything yet. Time will tell what Henne is. Dinking and dunking like Penny is not what we are hoping for.

Ya I'm sure that laser to Camarillo in the JETS game was just like Penny would have done it. That ball was $$$$...You must be watching the Buffalo game or something. Blue and Teal are different colors!!!!

It's already been proven that even a perfect pass will be dropped. That pass to Ginn where Sharper got the pick 6 was a perfect pass, right on Ted's hands and of course, we know what happened next.

You have a point..... I was beggining to think I was the only one who saw that play where Ginn was double covered but had at least a yard on the defenders and Henne underthrew it by about 5-10 yards making Ginn stop and come back to the ball. Henne throws it about 10 yards farther and Ginn has a couple yards seperation by then and it's a sure TD(if he catches it)
