What does the coaching staff see when the see Lamar Miller on film? Moreno showed so much heart and toughness in week 1 coming off the bench; basically pulled the team to victory with 134 yards rushing and giving 100% effort every play. Yet, Miller starts week 2. Now with Moreno out, Miller gets the nod to start by default but should he?... Because from what I've seen, Damien Williams looks like he has what it takes to be a starter and should get the chance to prove it. Miller can't block, has horrible hands, (when he does catch it he seems to fall down right away), doesn't break enough tackles, lacks vision at times, and seems to be more valuable as a number 2 anyway. Can the coaching staff really be that ignorant to think that Miller is a number 1? Why not start Williams and even have Darkwa get carries over Miller. Both of those guys run 4.4s and have a hunger to prove themselves. Miller is more of a liability than a playmaker.

The only thing I can think of is that Miller is one of those guys who practices better than he plays.

Some guys get something extra when the game lights go on. Other guys lose something. Hard to explain. Miller must be a guy who gets smaller and more clumsy and stupid under game lights.

Because they keep giving him touches and game time that doesn't fit his game production.

Miller is a reflection of the team itself. He's consistently inconsistent. I always temper my excitement when I see Miller break into the secondary, because I am always afraid that he's going to follow up a nice 15 yard gainer with a fumble at the end of the run. I do see a supremely talented player, but he's got to start putting things together on the field.

As far as your suggestion for more playing time for Williams and Darkwa, I don't disagree. Miller has had 2 seasons to prove that he is more than just talent. Let's see if one of these guys could put together something for a stretch. We might be pleasantly surprised.

I really don't understand why it matters, on who gets the first snap of the game. If Moreno is getting 20 carries, to Millers 10 carries, who cares who runs first? Unfortunately for Miami, Moreno is now injured.

That's why you see what you have. Give the ball to the new guys and see what happens. Looks like they can run and catch. So if Miller keeps it up he will be done like DT.

Miller will start, but given the fact that the carries WILL be split, the others will get carries. It's up to them, and the flow of the game, as to what happens after that. If Miller fumbles, or drops a pass or two, he will def see less playing time. IMO, with the Moreno injury, this will give the staff a better chance to evaluate those behind Miller on the depth chart. No way they would see as many "game time" snaps if the injury doesn't happen. If they make the best of it, and outplay Miller, that's a win for this team.

How long before Moreno gets back?

How long before Moreno gets back?

Reports are 1-2 months.

It's a big time table difference. No reports of torn ligaments or fractured bones.

Hopefully it's closer to 1 month. My FF team needs him back.

Williams time to shine.

Kid just got the golden ticket of opportunity.

UDFA, to making the 53 man roster. Lead RB goes down for at least 4-5 games, back up RB stinks it up.......

All eyes are on you kid.

Moreno was not 100%...he's still recovering from getting his knee scoped. I don't think anyone remembers that. There were still things Moreno, because he was not fully healthy, was unable to do.

Miller wins the job because he has experience and he's been here for three years. The coaching staff knows him, knows what he can and can't do. Williams is a rookie and hasn't seen every blitz, he hasn't gained enough experience and he was out of football for almost a year.

Regardless, it's not who starts the game it's who finishes. Miller started game one but didn't even play as much as Moreno. Much ado about nothing.

We should have kept Reggie Bush.

Miller has speed but he doesn't have reggies ability to make guys miss.

And Bush is obviously a better receiver even though Sherman inexplicably never used him in the passing game.
