Gase has been coaching for more years in his life than he hasn't been coaching. Former players have been being coached their whole lives and some make a natural transition. If you look around NFL teams you'll find a lot of former players as positional coaches. Hell it's how Dan Campbell started too.

When will people get off Chad Pennington?
An exJet that had a good year in Miami. Are we going to hear about him forever?
Perhaps it is people that did not watch Miami in the 70's 80's and 90's.
I know players move around obviously, but people treat him like he was some awesome Miami homegrown talent that we should never part ways with him.
Obvious choice is Zach Thomas. He might of been the smartest defensive player to ever play. Theres no one better to help a team for film and prepare them for a game.
