What happened to Wake?

Seriously what has happened to this guy? He has become nonexistent on this defense. Last year he was one of the only players on defense who put pressure on the opposing quarterbacks. This year you don't even hear his name called and if you do it is not for making a tackle or sack. I have been very disappointed with his play this year.

He's obviously not 100%. That's really the only logical explanation IMO.

His knee is injured.

Cam Wake's best move is a low-to-the-ground outside speed rush. A few years back, I remember Joey Porter & Jason Taylor commenting on how only young, flexible guys can pull that move off.

So my guess is that an older, less flexible Cam Wake with an injured knee won't be able to do that same kind of move, with any real explosiveness.

Philbin just likes Derrick Shelby better. Because Philbin is an idiot. Shelby is getting a ridiculous number of snaps while Dion Jordan plays special teams. Wake may not be 100%, but if that is true, sit him down and let him get healthy.

I agree, if wake is not 100% his tough stubbornness is killing us.

Wake obviously isn't close to 100%. You'd think we'd be using Jordan more to compensate for the loss.

He's into his 30s. Injuries will be more frequent and take longer to recover from. Don't listen to anybody who tried to subtract years from his chronological age simply because he was inactive early in his career. Don't listen to the happy adjusters period.
