I want us to draft Brady Quinn and I think he is a very good QB, but how would many of you feel if we would not draft Quinn and instead would stay patiently at 9, and snag a playmaker there. After a couple years are players has gone to probowls while Quinn is a Bust.... IF we dont draft Quinn, I know alot of us are gonna be unhappy especially if the chances are there and we dont trade, but if he goes on to stink alot of us will be very happy......

The same thing that will happen if anyone we pick at 9 is a bust. :rolleyes2

You scout players as in depth as possible but at some point you have to take a leap of faith that the player will be able to develop the tools you scouted in him to the Pro game.

No player is a slam dunk but if one really strikes you as having a great chance at making a top pro you make that bet and go for him.

I havnt seen anything to support that Quinn will be a bust. But you can "what if" yourself to death. That's the draft, players wind up doing better or worse than originally projected. That's why they are called "projections."

Jason Allen is not a bust, yet. I think you should give a player a couple years before calling him a bust. His holdout last year did not help him and Saban not knowing what to do with him either. Jason Allen is talented and might turn into a good starter for us, but I think we could have selected another player last year that could have been more productive then Jason Allen.

Alot of people said Carey was a bust, look were he is now. He is the best o-lineman we have and a very solid RT.

Of course Quinn could be a bust, but so could any one of the 300 or whatever players that will be drafted.

Honestly, it's a risk I'm willing to take. If ANYONE we take has bust potential (in theory) then it means any player is a gamble and the payoff in gambling on Quinn is definately worth the risk IMO, since any player could bust anyway, we might as well take the risk with the QB we have needed for 8 years.

IF we draft Quinn, he will NOT be a bust. I strongly believe that with the offensive coaching staff he'll have, the wost he could be is another Fiedler, if you want to call that a bust, thats fine.

Any player in any position can be a bust in the top 10. There have been DE busts, LT busts, WR busts, even RB busts. Good scouting and a bit of luck on injury avoidance/random freak acts tends to limit the probability and Randy/Cam are pretty good at scouting.

How do you feel about Jason Allen. He's a bust.

Useless post. Very hard to determine the quality of a DB after 1 season when they more then likely played out of position. But carry on cowboy.

Another Fiedler is a definite bust.
