Everybody keeps saying have the surgery and rehab didn't work, but nothing tore. As far as we know the knee is structurally in place, and something unexpected just kinda happened. Who is to say that 4-8 weeks more rest and training is all it needs? They are certainly in a tough grey area here.
If Tannehill doesn't go on IR I suspect Cutler will take the team as far as he can until they are certain Tannehill is ready to play.
The 75% talk on Cutler's bonus is interesting. Maybe the FO is guessing Tannehill might be back by then? Save them a milli or more.
Exactly. While first and fore most I want Tannehill to do what's best for his knee and his future because ultimately that's what best for our franchise. I see no reason why if healthy he can't play 6 or 7 more years given his overall excellent athletic ability.
That said, for all we know in 2-3 weeks he will be in the same boat he was a week ago before getting hurt in practice.
Jay Cutler being in Miami should have no bearing on what transpires with Tannehill. If #17 can play, he plays. Between Tannehill and Cutler, only one of them has future in Miami, regardless if the other has a present.
And for the record, I like Cutler and I think he's a good a band aid as could have possibly been had even though I think a certain black balled QB offered more competition at the position for the future.
A lot of fans feel the need to make declarations about the exact path we are on. What this set back means for a draft plans? What if Cutler plays well and he sticks around past 2017. Cut Tannehill and move on.
Come on, I get that we want answer's but sometimes you just have to be patient and let things play out.
5 or 6 years ago Carson Palmer was DONE. Until he wasn't. Same goes with Kurt Warner before that.
The best thing about football is that ultimately everything is decided on the field. Unless your Colin Kaepernick.
