We're WAY passed the "it's the media pumping a fabricated story" point. I don't know where you've been but there are in fact verified reports that he has met with Bama officials and that he is in fact considering (some say has already agreed to ) taking the Bama job.

He continued to say that he hadn't spoken to any Bama people when his agent was talking to them all along.

If he wasn't interested in the job this would have ended immediately. He lied about his intentions, plain and simple...

He talked about being with his wife when he skipped out on the press conference, when in all probability he was dealing with Bama at that time...

what a joke.

saban has not met with any alabama officials.

as any person with half-a-brain would do, you have to consider any job you offered. it would be foolish for saban to just come out and say NO to alabama

again, there has been no statements given by any officials on either side to confirm this hearsay

when in all probabality? who are you to say

and please tell me how this could have ended immediately? from my recollection, from his own mouth came the words "I WILL NOT COACH ALABAMA"

now you let unsubstantiated reports by jay glazer and other pinheads alter your common sense

ESPN is reporting that he met with Alabama officials last night. He's to decide sometime today on what he's going to do.

Eff him. Let him run back to college ball. We don't need this crap.

Dude, he met with the Alabama AD last night, and is meeting with Huizenga this morning. He lied about having contact with Alabama. His agent was exploring the job for a month. These are NOT unsubstantiated reports, but official releases from the Dolphins.

I'm with the poster on this one. Saban flatly said " I AM NOT GOING TO BE THE COACH AT ALABAMA" but yet and still people are still asking him about it. I can see how a man would get frustrated after answering a question multiple times and being asked the same question over and over again, i'd be upset too. Its his agents job to take listen to offers especially one thats talking 40mil. He wouldnt be doing his job if he didn't and also i'm sure its some personal motivation there for the agent, whats his commission on a $40 millon deal? And as for saban he would be a fool not to at least listen to them, even if he has no intentions of leaving. Scenario, what if saban declines to even entertain Alabama, and stays with the dolphins, goes 6-10 again and wayne fires his ***, then what? Now he's out of a job, and looks like a clown for turning down 40mil he owes it to his family and to himself to at least consider taking the deal, especially with the high turnover rate in the NFL coaching arean.

So he can keep food on the table right?. PLEASE the man now looks like a fool either way.

He tried to use the Bama offer as a ploy to get more money / job security in Miami. That's just one thing he did that was wrong.....

In terms of the team / our immediate future, he did many things wrong....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Really, where are the facts coming from?? The Miami papers... Where is ESPN getting it's "inside" info from?? I'd place a wager on the Miami media as the "source".. I'm with the thread starter, the media has an agenda, and it's not to help the Dolphins..

Here is what strikes me as odd. Most of the reports of Saban leaving Are in the S Florida papers. Few & far between have I seen anything originated in an Alabama paper. I still say the S Fla media is pushing the story because of Nick's policy toward them.

Chris Mortensen (ESPN) said his heart is in the college game but principles are forcing him to fulfill his commitment. How would Mort know what Nick is thinking or his values?

I don't want to say Saban has completely mastered the college game but he did win a National Championship. Saban seems like the guy who is continually challenging himself and going back to the college game seems like a step back IMO.

I am willing to give Nick the benefit of doubt. This offseason and next season will be the crucible of whether he can turn the Dolphins around and guide them to the promised land.

Its not about keeping food on the table, but when you make 5mil a year like he does here, and you have a 7million dollar house, and your family has grown accustomed to a certain standard of living, its not easy taking pay cuts no matter what they are. Let me ask you a question. I dont know what u do for a living, but lets put the shoe on your foot. If u were making $150,000 a year with no job security, and another company offered your $350,000 per year and gave you a 10 year contract where u knew no matter what happens you will get the $350,000 for the next ten years, would you not at least listen to them???????
