Of the QB's available right now to start, what do they bring that Moore doesn't already have? Will it be worth whatever we pay for them?

Cutler-

Romo-

Kaepernick-

There are others available through trade of course, but how many more wins do you think either of these guys give us than Moore would?

Cutler brings an allegedly more talented arm.

Romo brings a more talented, albeit injury prone and expensive option that we have to lure out of retirement.

Kaepernick brings much more talent on the ground, which is something Matt Moore simply does not bring to the table

All else aside: does Kapernick fit the Dolphins offense?

Yes, this is an important question. I know the talk is that he is being black-balled, but you also have to consider that he has a special skill set and you are better to build an offense around him. Can he fit in this one we already have in place? Should we change it for him? Could he be a long term answer if Tannehill continues with this problem?

How much more could a woodchuck win if a woodchuck could chuck Moore?

Cutler, Romo and Kaepernick walk into a bar.
Gase is the bartender and asks what they want to drink
Cutler says, "I work tomorrow, but what the hell, gimme a beer."
Romo says, "I probably shouldn't drink after my last incident, but what the hell, I'll have a rum and coke."
Kaepernik says, "I'll take a bottle of your strongest whiskey, and if you could also give me one of your bar towels and a lighter, well I'd be much obliged."

After a moment, Gase says, "You know fellas, I really don't think I should serve any of you."

To which Matt Moore stumbles in and says, "It's cool, Adam...I'm the designated driver."

I hope that clarifies things for you...

I'd think the biggest knock against Moore would be the TWO concussions he suffered last season.

Cutler, Romo, Kap with Moore as a backup is infinitely better than Moore and doughty.

According to Gase himself, it's a dink and dunk offense. Moore's arm strength is a bull$hit issue. We likely weren't getting to the play-offs this season even with Tannehill, except maybe in the minds of a few Dolphin fans. The rest of the football world wasn't seeing it. Bringing in an expensive gunslinger as a caretaker is just plain stupid, Moore is an adequate caretaker, unless of course Gase believes the team is ready to make a run now. In that case, I have to wonder about the Whisperer.

Cutler-has an NFL arm and won't limit Gase's offense. He'll make more mistakes but Gase thinks he can correct them(I do too).
Romo- Best QB of the bunch if you could do some kind of back transplant. He wouldn't play for Denver and won't play for Miami.
Kaepernik- Best legs of the bunch and will depend on them. He has a strong arm but inaccurate. Mentally will make the same mistakes as Cutler.
Moore- Is a Geo Metro. He'll get you to work but you better hope it doesn't snow. Bottom line is he doesn't have the arm to run all of Gases offense.
Cutler will be the man if he wants to be, and if Tannehill is truly done.

Crapdiks mistakes will be rookie level, I don't know what I'm doing or I left the pocket too early type mistakes.

Jay get me sugar cutlers mistakes will be mistake of arrogance thinking his all world arm can get the ball there and maybe some of his inconsistent throwing mechanics that stem from the same mindset.

Cutler best case senario is just as talented as Ryan with no drop off.

Crapdik needs the whole offense to revolve around his lack of football IQ. Unless the whole league goes back to 14-15, this gets you smashed by playoff level competition.

Moore is a backup for a reason....his ceiling has a clear limit...we simply can't put all our eggs in that basket. He also takes a lot of hits and would be a good bet not to make it thru the season.

There are clearly potential upgrades available which gives you a starter and viable backup to go through a season.

You obviously haven't listened to much of the NFL because I have heard much respect for the Dolphins chances entering 2017.

It is also arrogant to think you know more about these quarterbacks watching TV than Gase does who actually coached them all minus Kaepernick....who he certainly studied when he was likely the niners head coach...JS

That's a good point. To me, he's the one guy out there that brings something elite to the table. Kaepernick is probably the most athletic quarterback in the NFL with the rare ability to make big plays on the move.

His weaknesses have to be taken into account as well. While Kaepernick has a nice deep arm, for some reason he hasn't learned to take something off the ball on short throws. He throws everything 90 mph. Also, he's still basically a one and run guy. That worked with Jim Harbaugh, but he isn't quick to read a defense and a team like New England could give him all kinds of trouble. Seems to crumble in the crunch too, but that may be part of being with a bad team.

Love Matt Moore. He's gutsy and competitive and makes some big plays.

But there's also a reason he's a backup. Moore doesn't hold onto the ball very well (fumbles a lot) and, because of his gunslinger mentality, also will throw interceptions. Unlike a guy like Brett Favre, Moore doesn't have the talent to offset these mistakes.

Miami would likely rely even more heavily on the run to take some pressure off Moore.
