yo guys whats up i am watching pti and they said they jason taylor told sports illusrtated that he he hopes green doesnt get hit cuase he will be like scrambled eggs and this made me think what if trent green goes down in week 3. i think we need to consider this situation, we will only have cleo lemon and john beck, now i know cleo lemon isnt that bad but i dont think he is gonna be the answer for us or do we just start the rookie and let him go through his growing pains. maybe we should consider daunte for this particular reason, anyways i was just wondering what urs guys opinion of this is

What if Jason Taylor gets hurt?

Seriously, what's the point of the thread? Injuries happen. You make do with what you have. No team has excellent depth at every position and you can do a lot worse then Lemon and Beck.

Cleo would become the starter. No matter how great Beck does in TC and preseason, at the early part of the season, you have to go with the veteran. If Green got hurt in week 3, there is still a lot of time in the season and you have to put in the QB that gives you the best chance. Now, if Green gets hurt in say week 11 and we are 3-7, then you go with Beck since there really isn't a season to save.

depends on how the seasons going and what week its in. If its late in the season and we're terrible, then Beck will go in. if not, cleo.

the point of the thread is maybe we have a little problem at depth at the quarterback situtation tough guy, and i dont think u can do much worse the lemon and beck, look at our division the pats have cassel and vinny t, cassel is a ? just like beck is vinny has a much better track record then lemon, the bills have edwards and craig noll, that one is prob worse then ours and the jets with clemens also a ? and tuisssapo. even look around the conferece look at the teams like the jags, chargers and ravens all these teams have strong depth at qb i would even argue the raiders have a better qbs, cmon guys u guys are being homers here that dolphins are in the bottom half of depth at qb in the league

I don't know how the crap has even hit the mainstream media...Are you kidding me? All from a ******* SI article?

Off Topic: Please use punctuation.

On Topic: It is what it is, bro. We won't be paying Pepper to ride a bicycle again this year. Plus how content would he be as Green's backup? He's a bit of a primadonna and would fuss and e-mail the media all year.

good lord...I could hardly read that...

meh, so what, we will have the same amount of qb's most teams carry.. three. No need to freak out over what the talking heads are feeding you.

I think maybe the Dolphins should worry about how well the guys that are actually starting are going to play before they have a panic attack about who is backing up the starters. It would cost too much to keep both DC and Green. Yes, it would be nice to have veteran (one time) pro bowl caliber players waiting in case the starter gets injured, but it is just not feasible to keep DC. He said he would not restructure and he costs WAY to much to keep as a backup.

yea guys sorry bout my writing i just type like i am having a conversation i apologize for that

What if Tom Brady or Peyton Manning get hurt? Their teams get significantly worse because neither team has a backup to crow about.
Daunte isn't going to hang around as a backup at his salary.

None of those guys you've mentioned are going to lead their respective teams deep into the playoffs. Cassel hasn't proven a thing. Beck is a better prospect.
Vinny is washed up. Who the hell are Edwards and Noll? You just throw some names out there as if these guys have actually accomplished something :sidelol:

If Green gets hurtthen say hello to John Beck, seriously if the coaches had any faith in Cleo (other then backup ) the Phins don't draft John Beck(or any other QB) on the first day on the draft.

I have to subscribe to that thought too.

I would still say we would need to be a few games into the season before they throw Beck in. Cleo may be nothing more than a backup, but he is a backup that knows the play book pretty well. Beck is still new to the speed of the NFL and the playbook.
