First of all, God bless the people of London. May those who did this be found and blown up by their own bombs.

I am asking this because I don't know the answer. What if Ricky had accepted the year long suspension that the league would have imposed if he hadn't retired? Would he still be facing an additional four games this season?

:fire:

I know he would have banned for the year but would he have had to sit out an additional four games? He still would have had the year off that he wanted and, depending on the timing, maybe the team could have made a move to shore up the running game in some fashion instead of being left with no options at all. Then maybe we would have had him back at the start of this season and not had to wait the additional four games? I'm just asking.

We wouldn't have lost as much respect for him if that had happened. But he's Ricky. He doesn't give a damn about the people. We're his toilet paper.

Ricky could've served his 4 games suspension last year like David Boston did but he didn't sign the necessary paperwork for the NFL....just another example of where this kids head was. :goof:

The year suspension was DUE to his retiring. His real suspension was only 4 games. When he retired, they considered it another failed drug test and gave him a year.

True, but had he not retired he would have failed his third test. By retiring he avoided taking the last test that would have resulted in a 1 year suspension.

He would have been still required to stay on the drug program. Which means he would have been required to take as many as 10 pee tests during that 1-year suspension. Obviously Wicky had more important things to do like smoke the pot whenever he wanted so he did what he did.

His retiring was not considered a failed drug test.........had he (or IF he) UNRETIRES within 1 year, that is treated like a failed test and he is then subjected to a 1 year suspension.

He would still owe the 4 game suspension as well. Think of it as if it were a fine.....just becasue you get a second larger fine, it doesn't get you off the hook for a previous one.

Actually his retiring was considered him failing his 4th drug test. That's the only reason that Rikcy has to wait this long to comeback to the team.

If he never had a 3rd suspension he could have came back whenever he wanted too. He had a 3rd suspension which is the 4 game suspension. Because he retired the league looked at it as the same thing as a nother failed drug test. Therefor, if he unretired he would have been suspended for the whole year. If he came back before a whole year he is again suspended for the whole year.

Since he waited a full year that means he only is accountable for 3 failed drug tests and a 4 game suspension.
