The Oracle
One problem I have with QBs is that many (Dan Marino was funny doing it) do not really sell the play action fake.
If the defense does not believe at all that you handed the ball off then the play can go bad quickly. The best PA QG of our time? Of course, Tom Brady. His stats of PA passes is unreal. A lot of them are/were from a formation where he would turn his back and hand off and the fake is great.
But for it to really work you need the threat of a running game. And the real threat of trying to run for it on 3rd down. I other words, a power back. Something we have been missing for years except for a few games from
Now we have a better OL and a bigger stronger running back. Ryan Tannehill has been averaging about 50 sacks a years lately. I'd like to see Jay Ajayi and Lamar Miller run at least 30 times a game.
Ryan was sacked 46 times last season (30th in the NFL) and 58 times in 2113 (32st or last in the NFL), It is amazing he is not hurt. Running the ball more will not only keep Ryan safer but teams that run a lot keep their defense off the field a extra 10-12 plays a game.
We have had excuses. "It is a passing league now" which goes with "we simply do not have a good enough running back".
All I am saying is, give running the ball a chance..........................:420:
