What if...

It really is hysterical reading posts okay with all our draft picks not taking a qb. Even if we roll with Rosen next year we still need to be drafting qb. This is the biggest mistake our organization has made. Do posters really believe if we pass on a qb this year we will still have any shot at the first 2 picks next year. Cause that where Lawrence and fields end up.

I am a believer in picking a QB in the mid to lower rounds on a routine basis.

We can still end up with a serviceable QB and we could still surprise ourselves with a QB who demonstrates serious development in his first 2 or3 years. It happens all the time in the NFL. That's because most of the QB's available through the draft are neither the scrubs or the hero's most fans think they are. All of them posses some degree of talent or they would not be in the draft. We need to get over the hyperbole that comes around during draft and look harder at character, growth that has been shown and responsiveness to the coaching these guys have had when we are evaluating QB prospects.

We need to improve in so many positions at this point, cherry picking a few high draft picks will not solve many of our problems. Making solid draft decisions across the board is what we need. As long as the team grows its skill level across the board each year, we will be a contender.

Why would another team trade the rights for Lawrence? We won’t be bad enough next year to draft a top tier qb. We absolutely have to take a qb in the first round this year. Otherwise, then we are simply hoping we get lucky with a lower level qb prospect. You can’t build a team and hope your qb is just good enough to win. We’ve been using that model since Jimmy Johnson was here.
Um, when Jimmy Johnson was here we had this guy named Dan playing QB. Maybe you’ve heard of him. ;)
