I know in March we were 9.5 mil under. Does anyone know what it is now? I plead ignorance, but what is the rookie cap #? This is separate from the other cap, right?

is not separete.....they allow you to spend X amount on the players you draft but the cap as a whole is still the same and it includes what the rookies make......I don't believe we have much room under the cap right now.

Ozzy rules!!

We are right at $7million. We will need approx $6 million to sign all the rookies. Soooo, not much room unless we do something with Jake Long's contract.....his cap hit alone is $12mil right now

I really would love to know why this front office has not resigned long or wake to an extension n lower our cap .im really starting to hate these azzclowns

just read today on someones blog that next year we will only have 67 mil committed or something around there. That is half of what we have now. Its probly a thing called patience.

imo that is just ****ing ridiculous for a lineman. i dont give a crap who you are you shouldnt be costing your team 12 mil in cap. he needs to restructure, but i honestly doubt he will bc he probly wants to test the market

Signing Wake to an extension will not lower our cap number. He makes nothing. personally I would rather wait on extending Long to see how healthy he is because he will cost alot of money

imo we should trade jake long if there is a legit LT in the draft this year , or we can tell the guys to be cool until next year and then pay the guys , that is if Long wont restructure or take a cut.

You can restructure Dansby and cut someone after the draft to help sign WAKE. Long should want to resign this year because he will be franchised next year and that will leave him same place as now.

OK.... SEPARATE MEANINGLESS POST of the day....

So, here we are with give or take $7M in cap. $6M going to the draft, leaving $1M. And this is where the old saying "hindsight is 20/20" REALLY should help those pipe dreamers take notice who rant and rant without any thought to their words...

$1M. ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Argue and make it $2M or $3M if you will.... And this is after trading Marshall mind you.

So is that number cemented in your thoughts yet?

Now, learning point of the day:

How on this green earth were we EVER going to sign Peyton Manning and the rest of the Bloodhound Gang?!

Even Flynn for that matter?!

But yet, even up until the hours before the decision was made there were the die hards relentlessly bafooning everyone else that "Peyton is coming to Miami". Remember how cool it was gonna be when we signed Reggie Wayne, moved Pouncey to G and brought in Saturday, signed Clark and then brought in his Majesty to create a SuperBowl contending team?

And you think we just said F$%# IT and spent all that money on other things when he dissed us?

We would have had to purge 1/2 this team to pull of that move. Not to mention the cap hell we would have put ourselves in.

Eh... don't worry. 16 more games and another off season you be right back screaming for the next FA that's gonna send us back to the Super Bowl.

Because around here, we're ALWAYS one player away.

Considering the talent (or lack thereof) on this team, our cap # is a disgrace. Not 30 days ago people were praising Ireland for carrying cap space over from a previous year, thank God he did otherwise we would be making some tough decisions.

We have anough room to sign our rookies, and thats all that really matters right now. We wont be signing any free agents unless someone gets injured, and if someone goes on IR or PUP, they wont count against the cap. We are fine.

I'd expect to have more space when TC cuts happen. There will be some cap casualties once the TC battles play out. I suspect we could cut Garrard if we draft Tannehill. I think a DT could be cut as well....McDaniel?
