First he's in the starting lineup. Then he's starting but being replaced on passing downs. All of sudden, he's dissappeared. Am I missing something?

no he's just not producing the numbers you expect him to be producing

I'm just trying to find out why he's been benched? Did he fall off or did Spragan step up? Some (not including myself) had him as the rookie of the year and the best LB in the draft and now he's not even smelling the field on D.

He's a rookie. Most rookies don't smell the field on D or if they do smell the field, they make little difference.

It doesn't mean he's not the best LB in last years draft...

even though he wasnt....merriman or DJ clearly are, but everyone here is a homer.

I think hes a solid player he just might need more time to develope. I'm not a big fan of Spragan so far. If he is stepping in he better step up.

Right now, that distinction belongs to Odell Thurman of the Bengals.

first two weeks he got a couple holding calls, a couple PI calls, and a late hit out of bounds. He's doing fine when he plays, he's just not ready to be in coverage.

I really think he has not grasp Saban's defense as good as they thought he was doing in the preseason. So maybe more playing time when he gets more comfortable.

Give Crowder his time and he'll be a great player in a couple of years. He's got some great veterans on the defense to learn from and he'll do so in time.

Was sorta hoping the Bucs would pick him up. His dad (Randy) is one of my neighbors.

Thanks for the wonderfull insight atila please grace us with more of your wit and wisdom on what you think a homer is and who they are. It really is fascinating.Crowder will get his chances eventually it is a long season and he will be needed before its over.I like his intensity.

Wow, even Crowder is getting a taste of the rookie failure threads...
