What is the take on the oline against Dallas?

Clearly, Brandon Albert was a great signing. Dude is a rock in pass protection and even got out there and did his thing in the running game with a few key blocks. Great signing.

Juwan James was solid, and even showed off some versatility by manning LT when Albert left the game. This is looking like a winning bookend combo.

The star of the night was Shelly Smith . . . just a nasty azz mauling run blocker when in the game. Made Dallas Thomas look very out of place as they were rotating.

Overall when you have 200 yards rushing and just under 500 yards of total offense . . . you've had a good night.

Pretty good when Smith was at RG. I think the offensive line is pretty much set for Week 1.

LT- Albert
LG- Colledge
C- Satele
RG- Smith
RT- James

Will only get stronger when Pouncey returns to center.

Can't say until I re-watch after NFLN puts it on...but they were much more productive in large part thanks to Moreno

Tannehill had the protection to put up 17 pts. He put up 3. Disappointing QB play from him tonight. Wallace also under performed. After one catch he ran at defenders instead of away from. Hartline played like a 3rd string WR dropping passes and generally not getting open and Mathews also disappointed. Landry was outstanding.

How was Landry outstanding? He had 2 catches. He also had a bad fumble on special teams. And how did Wallace under perform? He was easily the best WR for us out there. Tons of catches.

Feels like people get these blinders on that certain players (Wallace) can do no right and others like Landry can do no wrong. Re-watch the game, hell even look at the stats. Wallace had 6 catches for 67 yards. Most on short routes, which people say he can't run. Yes he missed a deep ball but Tannehill made a poor read.

Aside from that, I thought the O-line was a strong point in this game. Good protection. One or two mistakes that can be eliminated, but Im happy with the progress. James looks like a legit starter for sure.

Shelley Smith is better than I thought he would be. Colledge and Satele are the weak links right now. If we can get Pouncey back by week 6, and Billy Turner ready to play, we might actually have a good offensive line.

Dallas Thomas is REALLY ****ing bad and should not be put on the field again this season.

RT moved the offense consistently. Dion Sim's fumble killed a scoring drive. Lazor didnt exactly, open up then play book either. It was a conservative game plan designed to focus on the running game.
You are making way too much of this game.

Good one....

He is right though....this was somewhat of a conservative game plan and it showed. Tannehill moved the offense....Moore moved the offense and both should have. We need to work on finishing drives, but you can see the confidence building in these guys.

I went to the game and haven't watched the tape yet. From what I saw, the OL played very well BUT, it was against a pathetic DL for Dallas. I believe our 2nd team DL is better than their starters. That said, Shelly looked to fit in nicely, and believe he will help James on the run.

One thing I did see was when Tannehill was pressured from his right side by two defenders, it looked like they came unblocked, which was kinda true. James missed the snap, and was still in his stance when the defender went around him. Saw RT talking to him after the play.

This is definitely how I see it. We ran some pretty screwy plays and that WR deep motion in backfield is just preseason hoowy IMO.

My take on James so far is that he has made some mistakes and whiffs but its not like they are game killers and not something that is of habit. I fully expect that of any rookie.

I'm more impressed than I thought I would be. So far, James looks to be a very solid pick. Thinking his play at LT means the end of Fox.

Shelly was some fun to watch on the run.
