I remember the 1993 Thanksgiving classic we had versus the Dallas Cowboys. Our Dolphins were outplayed most of the game but with only a few seconds left we drove our way down the field into field goal range. My nerves were shot waiting for our kicker to attempt the field goal. I believe the Cowboys called a time out to "ice" the kicker (pun intended). After what seemed like an eternity of praying to the all mighty Dolphin Gods there was the snap and a blocked field goal.

I threw my beer in disgust as all my friends (who were die hard bandwagon cowboy fans) were laughing in my face. Suddenly things started to get crazy. Out of nowhere Leon Let was barralling towards the "dead" ball. He slid into it and it scooted loose. The now live ball was recovered by a Dolphin at the 1 with 3 seconds left.

My Cowboy friends and I prepared ourselves for another field goal attempt- only this time it was good. I poured myself another beer as my friends threw theirs in disgust. That was my favorite game ever to watch.

The first thing that popped in my head was the Denver game in 2002 at Denver. The entire game was intense, filled with hard hits. It looked like Denver pulled it off with only around 45 seconds to go and then a few miracle plays later Mare boots one from far to win it for Miami.

I know there are better games but that popped in my head.

This game is very special to me as well. Every Thanksgiving when I was a kid, my family went to the movies after dinner. We were waiting for the Fins game to end before we left. After the original FG attempt was blocked, I turned the TV off in disgust and didnt see the great finish. I didnt see what happened until the 11 pm Sports Center that night. What a great feeling that was.
My 2 favorite Dolphins wins were the opening game of 1994 and a December 1997, 33-30 win against the Lions. It was a back and forth game if I remember correctly and rookie kicker Olindo Mare kicked the winning FG as time expired.

If it has to be games that i have been alive for, it would have to be the orange jersey-come back from behind to beat the pats-with A.J. Feeley leading us on the 3 min. drill for 2 scores-plus a 2 point conversion-and me having to get up for school early the next morning after staying up to watch the entire thing!

(whew! what a sentence!)

Da Bears 85

Yeah that game was incredible. I didn't actually see it but I listened to it on the radio. The Bears had their super bowl shuffle, but we preserved the only perfect season in NFL history with that win!!!

1985 Bears game in the orange bowl on Monday night.

I was there. best game ever. Miami has never seen an electric crowd like there was that night. It's too bad our crowds have sucked since that glorious night. There is no atmosphere at all in our games since we moved to the new stadium. No atmosphere at all in the few playoff games we had in the new stadium. In the orange bowl you couldn't hear yourself think.

The conference championship game in 1993 against the Bills was a total snorefest. A total disaster of a crowd. And there we were at home against our rival at the time for a chance to go to the superbowl. Yet the fans were sitting on their hands while the game was still to be decided.

Here's the beginning of that 1985 broadcast on Monday night football vs Da 13-0 Bears . Oh the memories.

I like this one, but its # 2. My favorite was Philadelphia on Monday Night Football in 1981 at the Orange Bowl.

If anyone else is old enough to remember, Philadelphia took the ball and boom, 4 or 5 plays into the game, had a TD and went up 7-0. Score stayed that way for a long time. It was 10-6 Philadelphia late in the 4qtr in a very, very tough game. Philly has the ball with about 5 minutes left, at the Miami 12 or 13 yd line on a 3rd down and 12 or 13, the Miami fans rose to a thundering pitch.....and those that remember the OB it can get really loud down in that closed end of the bowl. Jawarski came to the line 7 times, and couldn't get the play off. Finally the refs told him, to do it, or get a 5 yrd delay of game penalty. He got the play off, and threw it straight into Lyle Blackwood's hands at the 30 yrd line. 3 plays later it was TD and a Dolphins 13-10 lead with about 2 minutes left in the game. Dolphins then hold them off.

The fans helped win that game. I will never feel otherwise.

I know we also made a difference in the 1985 Bears game, as Ditka's 1st words to the press after the game were, "Get me away from those damn loud fans". We were LOUD that night too. Its sooooo different in Dolphin Stadium......it used to be rockin' in the OB. I miss those days.

A bunch off the top of my head - 1982 Dolphins/Chargers playoff game, Marino Fake Spike, 2000 playoff victory over Indy, the crazy 2002 Danver game (by the way - NEITHER of those teams was the same after that game - they just beat the crap out of each other for 60 straight minutes), the comeback playoff win over KC (DeBerg!), the 1985 win over da Bears...but my favorite?

It hasn't happened yet. ;)

bears game, but a very close one for me was opening day vs. the Pats with Danny and Irving Fryar hooking up all day...

How about the most recent Bears game? The undefeated Bears welcoming the lowly Dolphins to Soldier Field and the Dolphins just coming in and smacking them in the mouth. It wasn't even close. That is my favorite blowout for sure.

2 of my favorites come into my head as well. The 1 win this year was magical, but the New England Monday night game in our orange jerseys really stands out to me. The 4th and goal when Feely hit Thompson was crazy. When the Patriots went on to win the Superbowl it just made that victory sweeter. I guess the Dolphins were the best team in the league that year, since they, as Ric Flair would put it, "beat the man".
