I've been thinking about it a bit and I decided that our perfect situation would be taking Amobi Okoye with the first pick if he is still there, then in the second round picking up LaMarr Woodley and Reggie Nelson.

I've heard all the speculation about both players, LaMarr being overrated, not having good enough size, not having a definite position...aka a perfect player for the 3-4. He was an absolute monster in College and he could be great as a tweener in Dom Capers system.

I've also heard Reggie Nelson has a hard time learning defensive schemes, but keep in mind he is a Saftey and he can flat out play. The guy is an absolute ball hawk. We have a need for a safety with Jason Allen being moved to CB.

This scenerio (sp?) helps our D get a lot younger. We would be set at DL for a long long time with Manny Wright, Okoye, Roth and Woodley and Wright from Texas last year.

Face it the second level QB's are a huge risk, and none of them I can see as a franchise guy...Brady Quinn does have upside but do you really want to be tied into him for the next 8 years? I'd rather keep developing Cleo, rehabbing Daunte and keep our eyes open for a better QB.

If the Fins do two things, their draft will be made. Trade one of the 2nd rounders and the 3rd to the Cards and flips 1sts so the Fins can select Joe Thomas. Use the remaining day one pick to take Stanton. My dream scenario begins and ends there.

That's actually not bad. I really like Joe Thomas.

I'm sorry but I disagree with almost your whole post. 3 defensive picks with our first 3 picks? Where does Okoye fit in our scheme? Nelson couldn't handle Capers D. Our FS is a big part of our D and needs to be pretty smart. Cleo and Daunte? Sounded good at the beginning of last year, but things have changed. I could see a lot of these QBs being franchise guys.

My realistic dream situation? 2 women at the same time.

As for the Dolphins' draft, I'd say 2 starting offensive linemen, a QB to groom and a WR/TE/DB who can contribute right away all on Day 1. Day 2, depth at LB, RB, DB and both lines, and maybe a return specialist depending on that impact offensive player from Day 1.

But I'd still be happy with 2 women at the same time.

man....did you not see our offense the past few years? How can you justify taking three defensive players? This team needs a serious infusion of young talent on the offensive side of the ball! Enough with all the defensive picks.....the dolphins can address in my opinion any postion on offense be it the QB position, WR position, Offensive line and even RB and be better off. As far as my dream scenario Trading our 1st round pick and 3rd round pick to Washington for The #6 overall, getting Quinn in the first round, taking Sidney Rice in the second and taking the best avialable offensive lineman on the board with our second pick in the second round.....let's put some excitement back into the Miami O!

Dream scenerio would be:

Brady Quinn in round one (at #9 so we don't have to trade anything away to move up, although I'm more than willing to give up a 2nd or 3rd to move up to 4/6 respectively if need be), for obvious reasons that have been explained a bazillion times already by me and many others

Justin Blaylock and Tony Ugoh in round 2 (picks 40 and 60 respectively) to give us a very good OG and OT to block for Quinn.

I'm not sure what I'd do in round 3 if it were my "dream" scenerio. Samson Satele would be there at C, and that could give us 3 top tier linemen right there, but the idea of using both 2nds and a 3rd on OLs doesn't really thrill me (not sure why, lol). Ideally I'd like to use this pick to get a big play WR threat for Quinn to throw to, but I don't see any of them projected in round 3.

This scenerio of course was keeping it realistic, my REAL "dream" scenerio would be us getting Brady Quinn, Joe Thomas, Calvin Johnson, LaRon Landry, Patrick Willis, etc etc,

Dream scenario: Quinn falls to nine. Jarrett falls to forty. Free falls to sixty. The Saints decide to trade up to 71 in exchange for picks 88, 125 & 126. We land Wendling at 88, and use our fourth round picks on a nasty OG, Courtney Brown, and Daniel Sepulveda. End up with David Ball in the seventh round. I'll be happy if the rest of our picks are still on the roster in September...

1.Levi Brown OT Penn State
2.Trent Edwards QB Stanford
2.Jason Hill WR WSU
3.Zach Miller TE ASU
4.Lorenzo Booker RB FSU
6.Fred Bennett CB South Carolina
6.Jay Richardson DE Ohio St.
7.Mike Otto OT Purdue
7.Presscott Burgess LB Michigan
7.Brandon Harrison S Stanford

1) Brady Quinn in the first without trading up for him. That by itself would make my draft.
4) Jason Hill in the third. Very underrated WR, IMO.
5) Ben Patrick TE from Delaware taken on day two.
6) One of the other QB's falls to us in the sixth for some strange reason. Realistically maybe not Beck, Stanton, Edwards, or Kolb, but someone Cam likes that could develop.
I'm not sure this is my dream draft, but I'd be jumping for joy if we did these things.

Edit: I'd love it if Ryan Kalil fell to us at #40, but I don't think this is realistic enough even for a dream!

Dream scenarios:

Quinn or Kevin Kolb
A WR that doesn't have a knack for dropping passes (cough, cough, Chambers, cough, cough Hagan, cough)
2 O linemen
2 defensive backs
1 partridge in a pear tree.

I would kind of agree, but 1. If Thomas is there for the cards there is no way they pass on him unless someone is offering more than a second and a third plus our first unless they have levi rated higher. They have no left tackle at all, at least we have some that could step in and be mediocer. 2. Stanton will be gone in the late first round so we cant get to him in this situation.

yeah, let's neglect our offense again and keep adding players to the defense. then after we do that we can watch cam and randy quit because the team won't score any points...:shakeno:
