different from just an incomplete pass.

I mean if CC leaps and gets a hand on the ball, but doesn't catch it, is it a drop?

How do you define that?

to me, a drop is a pass that should have been caught. there were some passes that were low, or slightly off target, but to me watching, were balls he should have caught.

it wasnt just CC, there were several players "dropping" passes throuhgout the game sunday.

Perfectly said.

I'm assuming it's in terms of catchable balls. Like in your scenerio I would call it incomplete. If he jumps and just gets a finger on it I wouldn't call it catchable, and therefore it'd be incomplete. If it's a little to the left or right and it bounces of his hands, I'd call that a drop.

This is a great point and one that the media and idiot fans ignore.

Chambers is able to get his hands on a lot more errant passes due to his off the charts athleticism. It doesn't mean that all of them are catchable.

I think CBS counted every single pass that went Chambers way yesterday that he didn't reel in as a drop.

A drop is a ball that a WR should catch but doesn't. One that hits him in the hands with no player around. Or one that a player drops because he hears footsteps. Or one that a player drops b/c he's running before he's secured the ball.

Like I said, I defy any of these CC bashers to honestly go back and look at the game yesterday and say that he dropped more than 2 or 3 balls that he should have caught.

big difference

CC dropped more than all of them put together. He isn't a RB who has numerous running plays, he isn't a good blocking TE, he isn't a return specialist that happens to play WR, he doesn't play special teams at all. He plays the #1 WR position on the team and has a contract to prove that point.....HE MUST CATCH THE BALL!

Chambers dropped 3 for sure... and could be cited for a 4th as well.... but why talk about the drops when the guy caught 15...huh!

Like was said in the commentary this is the NFL and anything catchable should not be dropped. If they can get their hands on it it should be caught. Especially if the defender is has not made a play yet.

the one that was reviewed if you watched the replay they showed, the bills db made a great play. I'm tired of saying this, this should be pretty obvious, the biils db tried breaking up the pass as he went by chambers his arm got tangled with chambers right ar, thus pulling chambers right arm, while at that moment chambers was trying to get his right hand on the ball to pull it in. that one was not a drop.

Thank you for giving a voice to the idiot fan who knows nothing. He dropped more than Gilmore yesterday? More than Welker?

He caught 15 balls. 15, numbnuts.

I'd really like to see some evidence of these dropped balls from someone with more than 2 functioning brain cells.

Basically, a drop is when the ball hits you in the hands. It's really crusial when it hits you in the mid section. I can live with a highly thrown ball which is touched with the hands.

to me it's a pass that hits you in the numbers that you dont catch

other incompletiion come when receiver has to jump or made a circus catch to maintin possession

that one where CC went WAY up and came down and the ball it the ground. Was that a drop?

Shouldn't have been. Half the WRs in the NFL wouldn't have even got a hand on that ball.

2 of his 3 drops were uncatchable, one down the sideline he tipped it w one hand, the other would have been an amazing catch but it was challenged and overturned
