What QB Alex Smith most compares too...

Absolutely Alex Smith is Rich Gannon with an ever so slightly stronger arm.

Aaron Rodgers is Jeff Garcia? That's stupid...

He's closer to a slightly less impressive Brett Favre with better mechanics.
You say our comparison is stupid, and then you come up with Brett Favre? :lol: Rodgers is not a gunslinger like Favre. He relies on smarts and accuracy like Garcia did (but Rodgers has a stronger arm).

Smith is much closer to garcia than rodgers.

I agree with the earlier post comapring Smith to Rich Gannon. As far as command of the offense and presence on the field, he looks like Peyton Manning out there, in those areas.
As far as comparing him to Dorsey, I really think there is no comparison in one major aspect. Though I do not see the Hurricanes very often, they still would have been great without Dorsey, he was just surrounded by amazing talent. Without Smith this year, Utah does nothing close to what it did. Because of Smith Utah went from maybe a 3 or 4 loss team contending for a conference chanionship to a team some feel would have given USC its best game. The Hurricanes, though maybe not full strength, would have still been national title contenders without Dorsey. Smith elevated Utah to its status, Dorsey benefitted from everyone around him.
Rodgers=Carr.

Matt Mauck is on the Denver Broncos practice squad....he won't be given a fair chance in Denver because Shanny is in love with Jake the Mistake and is giving Jake a $6 million bonus over the off season for his "scintillating" play this year. hey, Saban was an LSU man, maybe he will swing a deal for Mauck. I know book smarts doesn't translate to NFL smarts....uhhhh didn't Fiedler graduate from Dartmouth??
:roflmao:
Fiedler was smart. His physical limitations held him back from being a more than mediocre quarterback.

Chad Pennington ran a 4.4 40yrd...hes faster then you think.

A. Rodgers reminds me of Casey Weldon.

Alex Smith is closest to Tom Brady.....Smart,leader/field general,accurate and does not have Great arm strength....Only difference is Smith is faster then Brady.
