This may have been a thread already, if it has been my bad! The quality that Nick brings that we have been lacking, and is the most important for this organization to go forward in my eyes in Leadership! I just appreciate his hands on leadership that we have lacked before. He has a great sense of direction, and he will hold the players accountable for there mistakes. The other plus that we have been lacking over the last four or so years, is that Nick seems like a coach that he will coach players up to play to there full potential! I am just glad that we have here as our coach!:beerbang:

I'd have to go with more then just one. But I would say, if I had to list just the top one, it would be leadership. Period. He's the boss, if you don't like it then you wont' have to worry about it long as you'll be elsewhere. This is his ship.

And discipline...something thats really been lacking.

I totally agree on the discipline part. Once this gets into the players heads, I think a lot of other good things will fall into place with this team.:)

Maybe it's discipline through leadership :D

That's what I was getting at. That came to me at 18 years old standing there with no hair, and a Marine Corps Drill Instructor in my grill!

I suppose that's one way to get the job done. Doesn't sound all that different from what Manny Wright went through at the beginning of camp...

A fresh start.
The fans still believe in him.

At the end of Shula's career fans were calling for his head.

JJ came in a lot like Saban. Infallible in the fans eyes. By the end, we wished we had a Hershel Walker to trade.

Wannstedt won a division title in his first year, but the inability to draft or develop a QB or offensive line did him in. Fans were calling for his head.

Saban is a lot like JJ in that he comes in with credibility, unlike a promoted assistant might, and there is a top candidate air about him. What makes me optimistic is that Saban is approaching this without the ego that Jimmy did. He doesn't need to piss all over the past in order to make himself look good. He is not an offensive guy, so he hires the best coordinator available.

I just hope the fans are not all calling for Saban's head in two or three years....stay tuned

It's early, but my gut tells me, I believe Nick is going to make this a very proud organization again!:beerbang:
