i'm lately hearing lots of different scenarios that could happen in my mind.what scenario would you take?

It was between the Ricky and Madison trade. Either way, we get a QB that has some potential. Carr may not be available and Schaub has only played in the WCO his whole career. Schaub may also not be available because of Vick's propensity to be injured. They may not want to trade him.

But, either way we go via trade for a QB, it'll cost us more than just a player...The ideal thing is to draft a young gun, but almost anyone that we can get would take a year or two to develop. I don't think Saban is in the "wait to develop" mode right now. Now, that doesn't mean that he won't go after a young gun later in the draft.

i think we keep gus and draft a qb because gus will be in his second year with saban or i would trade for shcaub and a 3rd or 4th pick.

I'd take Jay Cutler with the 16th pick, but I doubt he will be there for us to pick....so we either should wait until 2007 to get a franchise QB, or see what is available through free agency......Kitna and Culpepper might be the best available, but with Carson Palmer hurt Kitna will not be let go by Cincy. Our record next year is likely to be better than 9-7 (hopefully) so we may not pick low enough to draft a great QB prospect? I could see Saban maybe going after Omar Jacobs by trading down.

Between trading RW for Carr, or just drafting a rookie. Somewhat depends on Linehan.. if he stays, keep Gus as our vet to mentor the draft pick (Cutler) in Linehan's system. If Linehan goes, trade for Carr, Gus is relatively useless to us, and take a QB in the later rounds if one's out there that they like.

I was readin on ESPN insider that Houston has some interest in Ricky. Therefore i saw before they make a draft pick, trade ricky and a mid-round pick for David Carr.

Why would houston take ricky when they could take a better bush?

Its possible it seems, but makes more sense to take bush

Well, if they traded Carr for RW and a pick, then they'd have to pass on Bush and take Leinart or Young. Ideally, they'd want to trade Carr and get a pick then trade down to #3 and grab Young. Either way, if they trade Carr, they have to go after a QB...

Draft Brody Croyle in the 3rd or 4th round. Keep (and I can't beleive I'm typing this) Frerotte for another year.

Unless Saban believes Cleo can be our starter.

I chose the Madison for Schaub option b/c I think SM is gone so I'd rather get something than nothing. Otherwise I'm not sure Schaub would be my first choice.

I must say that I'm in intrigued by David Carr. If we go back to the end of the 2004 season, I think people would have been thrilled to get him at that point. I think the 2005 season was a disaster for him due to the Texans trailing all year long, and their horrible O-line play. (Hmmmmm.....sound anything like the car wreck that was the 2004 Dolphins season).

Mind you, I wouldn't give up Ricky AND a high draft pick to get Carr. Schaub is also an interesting thought but I don't see ATL giving him up easily.
