so that we can promote Holmes to play FB? I don't have a problem with the cut but if it's like Saban said "a numbers game", then why are we going to sign Holmes off of the practice squad? I think that Morris, Ricky/Ronnie, and Diamond could fill in just fine so that we could help out other areas of the team.

As long as it makes sense to Nick, it works for me. He knows what kind of players he needs. Maybe they are afraid of losing Holmes off the practice squad and Heath was expendable

Then I guess we should never have second guessed JJ or Wanny or any other coach for that matter is what you're saying right?

No read what I said. That's what I meant!
Well, I understood what you were trying to say.

Well Holmes fits more of a Jermaine Wiggins role in Linehan's system (that is H-back). But I was really digging Evans... He was a sweet lead blocker...

no he wasn't, he was average at best!

He could be resigned as soon as next week...perhaps...

It depends on if it was just a numbers game or if they are moving in another way.

who cares? hes a scrub. jamar martin should have had his job
werd. All Evans position does is block, Martin was a road grader.

Sammy Morris should see the field more. Evans didn't do a whole lot, so I don't have much of a problem with this.

By the way, second guessing the coach IS ALLOWED. Wannstedt really wasn't even allowed to make personnel decisions his last year. Just because Saban does something doesn't mean it's the right decision. As it stands, he's 2-4. That's not yet the hallmark of a coach who gets carte blanche to do whatever he wants.

Sure you do, they are DIFFERENT coaches who like DIFFERENT players. Why would we FANS have ANY clue as to the type of player Saban wants or dislikes? How can we FANS have the audacity to think we know more then the coach(es)? I don't think many people second guess BB anymore.

Didn't Heath have a bad play two weeks ago? A dropped pass or penalty or something?

Idk about you my friend but I watch mainly two positions during a football game. MLB and FB, Evans was a damn good lead blocker, sure he had no hands but he was a good lead. Martin can make some blocks but the reason he didn't have the job in the first place is he's a whiffer.
