Crumpler (TE) is Vick's favorite target.......as a matter of fact....... the TE is the easiest target for any QB. So what should we do? Match up's/ schemes/ etc.....

might be better off having a saftey on him..atleast in man anywayz. Zones i have no clue what Saban will do.

I think Crowder would be good to cover Crumpler in short situations but if we put a safety on him that might give Vick more man coverage and he might get some long plays to his WR. Zack should spy most of the game and if we go with some zone blitz's in that might help with the coverage on Crumpler as well. Thats just my 2 cents...

no other way to put it. Crumpler vs our defense is a matchup nightmare. I doubt we can stop him, if we hold him under 75 yards ill be happy.

we can put Crowder on Crumpler and spy Vick with Thomas, the Falcons don't scare me. Just like us they are run heavy and as it is we are one of the best run D's in the NFL

He's so good at finding soft spots in zones, and he can exploit man coverage by using his body to shield defenders. Crumpler will make some catches, but we can limit his big plays.

I think the mistake most defenses make with Crumpler is to take their eyes off him. I've seen Crumpler make big plays down the middle of the field when linebackers and safeties take their eyes off him to chase down Vick. The linebackers or safeties will try and run to help out on the Vick chase before he has even crossed the line of scrimmage. Crumpler is very good at running away from the coverage when the attention on him lapses, and Vick he's such a big target that Vick just has to be close with the throw.

Exactly, contain Vick, stop the run=W!

Scatter a few donuts all over the field to distract him...

Good analysis. You've got to cover both Vick and Crumpler on every play, and crowd the running game and I think we'll be fine.
