What the heck is going on?!?!

I dont get it! The defense was the strongest part of the team and we are changing now to 4-3 instead of 3-4? It does not make any sense! If its not broken dont fix it. I understand there are a few pieces that we need to upgrade at, pass rusher, CB, FS..but man our D is good and now we are chaning it?! Oh well...what do I know right? Thats why I'm not in the business of the NFL....:confused:
 
Chill bro...odrick is a better 4-3 DT in my opinion so is starks.maybe misi can take over the other end spot and find an answer for middle line backer.that would be an excellent outside lb core with burnett and dansby.I think the defense can only get better.san fran is a 4-3 squad moving from a 3-4 and we pretty much have somewhat of a similar front 7 and they didn't do to shabby either (except they have that beast pat Willis in the middle) I think it will allow our players to make more plays for the skill sets they have
 
They actually began using the 4-3 in spots last year and have a few pieces already in place.
Also, one could argue that they never really solved the NT position. Aside from the last half of 2010, Soliai has been average at best
 
People forget what goes with a coaching change. Obviously we needed one, but this is what happens. New coaches do what new coachces do. Massive changes. People you think were safe will be the first ones cut - you may not even recognize half the team next year. Remember the transition from 07-08?

I was a little concerned about the switch to when I first heard about it. But it is startiing to add up for me. We acually have the players in place to change to a 4-3. Yes we will need to add some players but we need to add just the same amoutn of players to our 3-4. But I like what Joe P is doing. BHuild your team to defeat the the top dogs in your division. who is the top dog int eh division = NE. How do you beat NE = stop T Brady. How do you stop T Brady = get pressure on him with the DL and keep 7 in coverage. Hence 4-3 defesne.

Well, we have that beast Dansby, who is not too shabby in his own right, even if he wouldn't be playing M-LB in our 4-3 like Willis is in San Fran's.

The pats vs ravens...I doubt Solia could ever make the distruption that wilfork was producing.that's the type of cash we are goin to be paying him if he stays on board.he is good,but by no means is he dominanting.I just hope misi finds a place somewhere this year or it looks like a wasted 2nd rounder.
 
Dont forget how many last minute losses that defense gave up last year. I remember at least 2-3 times having the lead with 2 minutes left and watching a team drive the whole field to beat us.....Cleveland, Giants, Tim Tebow and the Broncos to name a few. That defense was not good in the 4th quarter so something needs to change because that is VERY important!!!
 
We played a 3-4 but one of our OLB's (Cam Wake) had his hand in the dirt a good majority of the time so it was essentially a 4-3 anyway. The alignments may be a little bit different but it's not going to be as big of a change as people think.
 
Dolphins have good personel for a 4-3. To run an effective 3-4 you need a monster nose tackle that requires alot of money that could be spent elsewhere. I welcome the move.

and the Pats basically play a 4-3 anyways nowadays.

Honestly, doesn't really matter which D we play. I personally, feel that a switch would mask some of the holes the defense has right now.
