People are upset we got Culpepper? Are you kididng me? We paid nothing for someone is who far better than we have seen in a long time here. If the information is correct its a 2nd Round pick for 2007. I keep hearing how he is injured and we should have paid more for Brees, well Brees is injured and to be honest his injury could be career ending as well. Ill take a risk on a knee injury over a shoulder injury any day.

People need to get over it, this is a great pick up with little risk its a 2nd Round pick not the end of the world, 6 year 60 million for Brees was a bit much to pay out on a guy who might not play at all as well next year.

Im happy! Culpepper is a fine pick up, actually Im more upset we didnt resign Sage!!!!! We dont have a back up now =/ or maybe we do and keep Gus with a redone contract.

I can't help but laugh at how so many people here are unwilling to put their faith in a decision made by the man who turned this team around... I am sorry to say this to all the Brees supporters, but he just isnt our guy... I wanted Brees here more than Daunte too, but the fact is Brees just wasnt in it for the right things... Daunte wants to play here, he is willing to renegotiate his contract to better suit our cap situation, and even if his knee is still bad, he's still got his arm, and it is a cannon... I dont like giving up a second rounder, but on the same hand, Daunte is better than any second round selection we would give up this year...

I really dont know why people are upset we got a STUD for a QB. Top 5 when healthy. I dont know if anyone plays fantasy football. But he was the second best QB, behind Manning, in about 90% of fantasy drafts. This guy is going to take us to the next level.

Come on what was it 2-3 years ago we gave up our 2nd round pick for Feely and now we give it up for pepper IMO thats a steal. Culpepper will be fine hes knees gonna be fine if Mcahee can come back from pretty much the same injury and run the ball like he does we've got no worries.:dolphins:

Ey, I was on the Brees bandwagon...But C'mon! Culpepper is a GREAT QB in the NFL! I'm SUPER HAPPY AND EXCITED that we've got a REAL QB. It's true about Brees...That's waay too much money for him. If that were PAYTON MANNING I'd say PAY HIM WHATEVER HE WANTS! But it's not. CULPEPPER HAS BEEN a great QB for a bunch of years. 3 time ProBowl selection. Also a great rusher aside from his arm. The only thing I was worried about is that he wouldn't be able to play in time, but everyone's saying he'll be ready by September. Rememember people Daunte only had 1 wack year. Last year. His 1st without Randy Moss, and Scott Linehan's system. Viking's were wack! He's never had a RB like we do, nor a Defense like ours. HE'll also be back in Linehan's TYPE of system. He knows it. THis is GREAT for the FINS. Regardless of what some people on HERE think. Remember, this is the home of the wackiest posters known to man.

Like the others have said, if he's healthy then we just took the vikes in a big way...he's a top 5 QB when healthy and can make ALL the throws......I am worry about his leg tho more than some people...to think that the arm is not affected at all is ludicrous....you need your legs to be able to throws the ball....Dan retired cos of his legs more than his arm...In the end I'm having to have him with us....I trust Saban that he made the right decision and I'll be supporting Nick and Dante....if it really is a 2007 pick then even better.

Ozzy rules!!

Nay sayers, look at what we did a couple of years ago with a #2 draft pick, no names mentioned AJ, where is he now. Now bring in a top 5 QB when healthy for a #2 '06 or '07 draft pick that already knows the Linehan System, which by the way we keep for the most part, plus the following benefits:

- A QB that wants to play for Miami (Florida)
- Played his college football for UCF (Florida)
- Willing to restructure his base salary to meet the dolphins cap situation
- Has potential to still play in 2006

Gosh guys, I think it looks like a perfect fit. Let's play ball.

I'm with ya. I wanted Brees too, I felt he was the hungrier QB, but hey, I like the way Saint Nick does business... He's not gonna screw around, the offer's there, if you wanna be a part of our organization, sign and get to work. If not? C'mon Daunte! I get the feeling Daunte *wants* to be a part of what were building here, and I didn't get that feeling from Brees' camp after 3 days of negotiating. Culpepper will have a chip on his shoulder, to prove Minnesota and every other team that passed on him wrong. Knee injuries aren't what they were 10 years ago. Look at McGahee and guys like Garrison Hearst (BOTH knees) they came back and they're RBs... a shoulder injury is more severe longterm. (I had the same surgery Brees had) You can rehab and get close to normal, but never back 100%.

Welcome home, Daunte. I'm off to get a jersey. lol

I was one of those people that didn't want Culpepper here. I didn't like giving up the pick and he still is gonna cost alot toward the Cap. I am also unsure of how he will play, he does have a tendancy to turn the ball over by fumbles or int. Then ya got the knee injury.

That being said I am not really sure Brees would have been that much better option given the money he wanted. The injury to Brees is a rough one to evaluate too, I have faith that Saban didn't want to overextend on Brees.

I wondered why not try for Schaub, McCowns, Ramsey. Healthy and they wouldn't cost as much toward the cap. Some would cost draft picks as well too. Then we are back in that same situation with really an umproven QB with not many starts and we put our faith in them for prob 2 years and possibly watch them struggle. We have been down this road couple times, I realy don't want to see the re-run.

I was not a fan of Culpepper in Minnesota. I am a fan of the Miami Dolphins and will cheer just as much for Culpepper here throwing TDs and winning us games. I cheered though Fieldler, Feeley, Lucas, Ferrote, heck even Steve Deberg back when Dan got hurt. Culpepper is definately the best QB to come to Miami since Dan left in 99. The position has been upgraded and we got 1 of the top 2 availiable QBs this year.

The best thing I have read is Culpepper's strong desire to play in Miami. I hope for the best and look forward to him putting forth every effort to win us a SB. It was only a 2nd rd pick too. It isn't like we gave up 2 1st rd picks for a franchise QB. This is a Gamble though with huge upside. I hope we roll the dice and come up big.
